Size matters if we are talking about few decades ago Joe had a hard time vs a 175 pounder Billy Conn in this modern era no commission will authorize this fight due to the difference in weight the Klits brothers are big and mobile big guys same as Lennox they will have a easy time against Joe.

All better than either Klitschko, but very small in comparison.

All nearly as big, but not as good.

Louis faced no one with bbothe the skill AND size of the Klitschkos.

That said, I believe he would have beaten both of them most of the time.

Wlad by a decision or a late KO.

    Vitali by a decision.

But on a given night, both have it in them to defeat the legend.

I love the Brown Bomber, but he was just too stationary to do anything to either Klitschko. Still #1 heavyweight ATG in my opinion though.

If you believe that, then Louis would defeat either Klitschko. Otherwise you're stating the Klitschko's are #1 and #2 on the ATG list.

I like Joe Louis, but he would be knocked out by either Klitschko. He was way too small.

Buddy bear isnt even as fast as a sloth. How in the hell would you compare them to the klitschkos? You can see his punch from a mile away.

No he's not...you can't compare the two eras...joe Louis was only 6'2" and usually fought around 200 lbs, not to mention, he didn't have the greatest chin in the world.

Boxing, like every sport, has evolved and fighters have developed better techniques and strategies.

There is no way a stationary and chinny fighter like Joe Louis would beat either klitschko.

But, neither Klitschko bro will ever contribute and accomplish more than Joe Louis. What he did for the sport of boxing is legendary.

I rate ATG on accomplishment, the only reasonable way to rate ATG IMO, no H2H (which is absolutely ridiculous.

H2H, Louis still is the favorite against the Klitschko's. The last ATG HW Vitali ever fought was Lennox Lewis and he lost to him. Wladimir's never fought an ATG HW. Both Klitschko's have defeated guys who would have been considered average at best in the 1970's and 1960's. Louis defeated men of the same ilk, but he also defeated guys like Schmeling, Baer, Carnera, and Walcott, and well as champions Lewis and Conn. 25 title defenses in 11 years, compared that the two Klitschko's put together in the last five years cant even compile remotely close to that...come on now...

H2H Louis is the favorite no matter how you look at it.

Yep. Not to mention that lewis is must be #1 HW H2H and had a pretty tough time with Vit. Also Joe luis beat a too big bums like bear and carnera and there is some universe that he could beat in hell Ali or Larry or Forman for that metter. FACE IT!! Louis is a great champion of his own era. He was ahead of his time. But no way in hell he could last long against both klitschko.

I think David Haye would have a very good chance of beating Louis and many other ATGs. Louis may have fought big guys but they were big guys who weren't any good e.g. Kevin McBride, Tye Fields, Timo Hoffmann. If you can't tell the difference in athletic ability between Buddy Baer and Carnera and the Klitschkos, not to mention the depth of technical ability the modern day guys have over the plodding one--handed fighters of yesteryear, then it's not worthwile to put up reasonable counterpoints.
