Fpreman had more of a jab in his comeback than in his first career. Stylisticly the younger version of Foreman who beat Fraizer twice had a lot going for him. A jab was not one of those things. Louis was one of the best counter punchers in history and he was very effective going backwards.

This video should answer any questions about Louis's boxing skills.

not really. he had about an inch of height and at his peak was about the same weight(217ish for foreman, 200-226 for baer). Strength is debateable as always, but Max never seemed to lack in functional strength and it still did nothing for him against Joe.

S, No one,yes no one could take those left hooks and right crosses any
BETTER than Max Baer, and still remain conscious. Max Baer with virtually no defense, took a punch better than any fighter I ever saw including Foreman.
Foreman never faced a 5-6 punch lethal combination with such rapidity.
The first punch of Louis NUMBED you, followed by deadly combos, selkdom seen be a heavyweight. There can never be a better puncher than the great
Brown Bomber,my favorite Heavyweight of modern times...:good

  5. ive seen a couple Louis fights but im not claiming to know alot about the guy thats all , i feel from what ive seen that foreman would be too strong , and foreman punched harder than all those guys

Why do you think these atributes would be decisive, or even particularly useful?

Louis, and be confident about it. Foreman's size and style would not be unfamiliar to Louis and Louis did well every time with it. I think Louis would exploit the numerous openings and balance problems and pick him apart.

    Briefly put, Seamus is right.

Watching Foreman against Ali, I was struck how easy he is to hit with the jab.
George used his gloves to block shots, his head movement was non existant, knowing how fast ,accurate, and heavy, Louis's jab was, I see it being a key weapon ,in breaking Foreman's concentration.
George is hard to quantify because in essence, there were two George's ,the come out and let them go, wide swinger from his first career , the muscled bruiser with a tendency to blow, and then, the relaxed, patient, stalker, who took his time, and utilised a very effective jab himself, in his second coming.

i was once of the opinion that ali was the greatest heavyweight. but after watching his trilogy with frazier, his troubles with cooper, it's fair to say some styles will give him trouble.

i think prime louis beats any heavyweight in history to date. most likely by knockout over the 15 rounds

  10. well louis had been dropped early on in fights , and foreman would come out all guns blazing and would be the most powerful man louis ever faced so im sure that these attributes would at least be useful , i do know louis was by far the superior boxer and if the fight went longer than 5-6 round the fight would be his for the taking , but i feel foreman could stop louis on the right night

The question then is how bad Louis's chin was.

He fought 70+ times and nearly half his fights were against opponents currently ranked in the top 10 by Ring Magazine.

He was only ever stopped after sustained beatdowns over the course of a fight.

I don't think that Louis was an easy fighter to stop.

I'm of the opinion that Louis murders him.
George has his shot early, but that's it, honestly. Foreman's power did not go into the late rounds and neither did his stamina. If Louis gets by the early rounds he picks Foreman apart with accurate, powerful combos. George isn't likely to avoid them either. His defense has never been that good, and with Louis's puncing, he's going to get hit a lot in this fight.

i think louis comprehensively beats down george. he was really susceptible to the jab and i'm not entirey convince he'd have the power and stamina to wear louis down over a period of 15 rounds.

The more I watch him, the better he looks.

What he accomplished in terms of championship record was so difficult but is often disregarded.

Early knockout my ass.. I to pick Louis to beat Foreman, but by no means does he "obliterate" him, especially in the early rounds.
