What's your guys pick on this? Looking back, Mesi was actually a talented fighter, I'd pick him by UD.

    Adamek 118-109 Mesi.

I see Adamek scoring a accumulation knockdown later in the fight, in the process of sweeping most of the rounds.

    Vitali Klitschko vs Joe Mesi

Vitali Klitschko was about to fight for the vacant WBC title against Corrie Sanders, and Baby Joe Mesi had just splashed onto the scene in a pretty big way for a few fights in a row.... and was undefeated, eventually reaching #1 ranking in the WBC a short time later.

Do you realize how awesome the promotion of this fight would be? Rocky IV! Vulnerable, power punching Italian American, Baby Joe Mesi (Rocky Balboa) fighting against Vitali Klitschko, who was about as Ivan Drago as it got at the time... especially after the Lewis fight. Vitali's popularity was huge at the time as well.

Promotional commercial..... Baby Joe Mesi is driving around listening to "There's no easy way out".... picturing Vitali thumping the **** out of some people.... Vitali is training hardcore and knocking out guys like Kirk Johnson in short order. Baby Joe Mesi's eye was swollen Rocky style against Monte Barrett.... and he got off the canvas to win the fight. Of course we also can have the commentators yelling "The Russian is cut! And it's a bad cut!" showing clips of his fight with Lennox Lewis.

I wish this fight was made and I would have been given the promotional reigns... I would have made it corny, and cheesy as hell and people would have ate it up.

Of course when they fought Drago (Vitali) would have pummeled the **** outta Baby Joe... but I think it could have been HUGE if promoted correctly.

It is also my opinion. Mesi was ovehyped, but nonetheless he has some skills, got some decent wins and always kept in shape (compared to current contenders, I'm not going to argue about couple of pounds)... and Adamek doesn't look that spectacular in HW.

I think Mesi would spark him, Mesi's a lot better than Grant...hits nearly as hard and has way better chin.

I wouldn't say Mesi was really a lot better than Grant. Mesi just retired before he got exposed... and he was going to get exposed sooner or later.

I bet if Grant retired undefeated before Lewis fiasco he would be ranked higher than Mesi.

Grant had zero chin though, that's his problem, Mesi on the other hand took some thunderous blows from Jirov and stood the chin test. I bet Mesi would march Adamek down throwing bombs and I doubt Adamek could withstand...Mesi was a good puncher

I loved Baby Joe, sad his career was cut short like it was. Would've been a great fight with Adamek. I would probably favor Adamek, being the more seasoned fighter. The hate Mesi got after the Jirov fight was unfair. Jirov was a good fighter I don't care what anyone says.

Mesi could hit and was skilled, Adamek has been wobbled in several fights but has great heart

Mesi cant fight a whole fight the Jirov and Barret fights are proof that he falls apart late

you cant beat Adamek if you can only fight 8 rounds of 12 hard

Joe Mesi wasnt even a good "B" class fighter.
And at the end he struggled with BUMS.
So guess what that makes him.

Does it make him a B- fighter?
