i could not find more than 1 professional fight of him against reasonable or above opponent on youtube.
    how was he ?
he is rarely mentioned and seems forgotten.
i know his career and health were critically damaged by the rabbit punches jirov gave him.
he has some decent wins such as KO1 against Davarryl Williamson , TKO4 against a 37 years old but still very big Jorge Luis Gonzalez , KO9 over a 34 years old david izon , TKO7 over a 35 years old and also shot Bert Cooper , and his fights against Jirov and Monte Barrett were very close , some will say robberies. he is still undefeated according to his record.

Nice avatar. Is that you in it?

    LOL jk

P.S. Jirov got his **** pushed in by Mesi. Mesi won 7 rounds easy. The KD's made it close.

The Barrett fight was VERY CLOSE. Toss up as far as I am concerned. I liked Mesi. I mean any tall/skilled fighter would have crushed him...but with the right matchups and what not he could have won a belt and stayed undefeated. Just my opinion.

He was overrated, though had wins over young, talented up and comers during the early and mid 2000's. He had a ton of heart, good power, shaky chin, and only decent skills. His defense didn't seem all that great either, alot of times leaving himself open for a good counter.

Mesi had a great personality, and a face for television. I use to enjoy when he was a guest commentator for espn. I truly believe that's the route he should go these days, before he is seriously hurt in the ring.

He won't get hurt in the ring, he doesn't fight.

She is Amee Donovan. very good actress.
one of my all time favorites.

Jorge Luis Gonzalez was tall and skilled at least as an amateur , also far from green as a pro when they fought. so was Davarryl Wiliamson.

No robberies in the Jirov/Barrett fights, he won both.

He was pretty good, not great.. but he had some skills.. but he would have been destroyed by either Klitshcko.

Underrated by boxing fans and overrated by the media and casual fans.

Good fighter with good power and decent speed. His chin was below average and his defence wasn't anything to write home about. He clearly won both fights against Barret and Jirov. The only people who don't give him the wins are his haters.

pretty fast hands, good one punch power, awful stamina. Mesi was destroying Barrett and Jirov through 5, then his motor ran out. I thought he was a top 5-10 guy at his peak and maybe could have had a belt. Could not have fared well against the klitschkos.

I go along with the other posters...

Mesi was a pretty decent tier 2 heavyweight... but I think he went about as far as he could go to be honest... If he had problems with Barrett and Jirov, he sure as hell wasn't beating the Klitschkos... or any other top HWs of the day for that matter imo.

It was only a matter of time before he stepped up and got beat down... badly.

*Joe would make a great boxing commentator.
