Prime for prime, who takes this one, “Baby” or “The Boxing Banker?”

I think this could have been a pretty good fight, and fairly competitive.

I agree that this could have been an exciting brawl. Grant had his limitations but I’m not sure how well Mesi would deal with a fighter of his size and power. The difference in height and weight would be pretty significant I think

Are you thinking of Michael Grant? For a second I thought I messed up the thread poll or title lol. This is Mesi vs Calvin Brock.

Ugh I’m sorry I I thought Michael’s grant. In that case I say this is 50/50

I haven't seen enough of Mesi to tell. Neither man was overly durable, and both hit pretty hard. Both were considered good amateurs, and fairly skilled guys. They remind me of each other in ways beyond just their personal backgrounds.

I like Brock in this. Big.

Decision bout all the way and just cannot see Mesi doing well against a solid defense like that. His connect % would be horrible and especially so after about 7 rounds when the fatigue sets in. Hardly an optimal match for Mesi and there are better styles that suit him.

Calvin Brock by UD10 (tko if it's a 12 round fight).

Brock was fairly good at everything and great at nothing, good power, good speed, good defense etc. He really didn't do anything bad in the ring. That's why Wlad had the trouble he had with him until he detonated him. He didn't give an opponent a lot of room for openings. Baby Joe burned out, the only two fights he went 10 rounds in he was in absolute hell after 7 rounds in both. And Brock was craftier and physically bigger/stronger than both Jirov and Monte. And Brock showed he could close out a fight strong against better comp.

Pity that he had the eye trouble he did and had to call it a career so quickly.

Surprised by the results of the poll, I figured it would be a bit closer.
