Joe Mesi vs Chris Arreola- this would be a pretty cool fight. I think it all comes down to who land the first punch. Too bad Jirov mess Joe up. I really wanted to see have far he would go. But who wins this fight?

I see Cris winning the fight as Cris is a more complete fighter and bit heavier

I think Arreola would take this by KO. Mesi was a rugged brawler, who had an exciting style, but he doesn't have the skills of Cristobal, IMO.

This would be a great fight. The two are actually pretty similar.

I was tough on Mesi for a long time (I thought he was a total hype job) but even in almost losing the Jirov fight, he impressed me a lot. Not only did he beat Jirov...he outboxed him the whole fight, and badly. Jirov, mind you, was a gold medalist and was supposed to be the boxer in this fight.

Mesi had good power, pretty fast hands, and at the very least, heart. That may not be enough to beat Arreola, but I'd have loved to've seen it.

When did Mesi give up his comeback? I would hope he has - haven't heard anything about it in a while - seems like he hasn't fought since Oct 2007

Jirov apparently is starting a comeback now (as a cruiser?).

He's trying to get a cruiserweight title bout.

Mesi in his prime would be interesting. Mesi has been very inactive right now I say Chris in four rounds or less.

Actually Mesi and Arreola aren't similar at all as Mesi was a glass-chinned fraud. He was more like Tye Fields.

Arreola would win the fight today. But a prime Joe Mesi would have the needed of punch variety and activity to KO Arreola in the early to middle rounds. If Arreola survived that he could KO Mesi.

Arreola is a very accurate puncher with power.

He punches really well. Puts his punches together better than maybe any other Top 10 heavyweight except for Wlad. And he hits pretty damn hard. But that's about it. His chin is questionable. His heart is questionable. His stamina is questionable. Etc.
