I would think Mesi's skills have deteriorated to a c+ level boxer by what I read. Everything recent about him says he can barely hang with club fighters. I take Sergei by TKO

Other than maybe some biased people here, where have you read this? He's fought horrible competition since coming back, but he's handily destroyed them, and he's looked much better in his last couple fights than he did in his first couple comeback fights.

I'd still say Liakhovich at this point, but if Mesi looks decent against Williams (who Liakhovich ain't much better than), that might change.

Short work of all of his opponents since his return???:think

Beat Jason Weiss 3-1-0 by UD4
Beat Stephane Tessier 3-7-0 by UD 6
Beat Ronald Bellamy 14-4-4 by UD 8

I personaly would not call it short work especially fighting complete bums.

What fight???:patsch This would be a Homicide and we'd see Sergie being cuffed and thrown in the patty wagon awaiting his trial.

    Mesi was never anything BUT a C+ - B+ Fighter...and B+ is generous.

You Joe Mesi haters get me so mad:twisted: Baby Joe is one of the hardest hitting heavy weights out there and are best hope against the red menace:scaredas: If you were real patriots you would support Joe in his crusade too get the title back here in the good old US of A:nono
Mesi would have far too much fire power for the Gun Shy Liakhovich as Baby Joe hits as hard if not harder the Shannon Briggs:deal Who knocked the Russian right out of the ring:!:

Man, the only way Mesi could hit Liakhovich is by hitting Sergei's fists with his damaged skull. This fight will be stopped by the cops for assault and Sergei would end up in jail for beating up defenseless and crippled Mesi.

Liakhovich would win against today's Mesi, just like any other top50 HW.

Mesi would have won, he was dominating Jirov untill some vicious behind the head shots caused interal bleeding of the brain (Sam Peter and Jirov Guillty of this) This punch is much worse than a full contact low blow, anyway Joe has never regained the form (Daniels Ko1, TOS ko1) but I dont want to just blame it on Jirov because Joe seemed tired and got shook by Monte Barrett after dominating early, Sergie looked frail in his fight with Briggs and just dropped his hands in the 12th and let Briggs tee off(his stock dropped. At this point I favor Sergie by a late stop but it could turn out the other way around depending on how much Joe has left, one thing is for sure (ref stops it as soon as Joe gets hurt)
