First of all, claiming corruption here is insulting to neutrals who recognize how good and debatable the fight is. In most cases, corruption is just anotherword for complaining or being a sore loser about a result. And you dont need a fight to go to a decision for there to be claims of corruption. (Ward Kovalev 2 for example) If real corruption exists, then I'm all for rooting it out, but using corruption as an excuse to cry bout a fight where your favorite fighter lost is just being salty.

I mean it's really insulting to any fighter to try and downplay someones victory becuase you thought the other guy won. Show some decorum, have some respect for the combatants. Claims of corruption in regard to Canelo GGG have nothing to do with happened in the rematch or on the night. GGG fans have been crying about corruption and judging conspiracies long before the rematch even happened. It's all just their way of preparing themselves for what they know deep in their heart that Canelo is just flat out better than GGG, so when Canelo won they could use it as an excuse. It's very sad and pathetic behavior really.

Look fella, the vast majority of fans and media thought Canelo lost.

You saying Canelo accomplished the impossible just makes Golovkin sound like God lol.

Thank you for your input, I respect you for having the first fight for Gennady but the 2nd fight for Canelo. I personally had Canelo winning the first fight but we can disagree on that no problem. I don't begrudge anyone for scoring that fight for Gennady due to how often Canelo fought off the backfoot. It's not a style that many appreciate and you having Gennady winning the first fight is OK with me.

I think both fights were extremely close and have many debatable rounds in them. You hit on something very important though and that's conflating what happened in the first fight with what happened in the 2nd fight. Regardless of what happened in the first fight, the 2nd fight is a different fight and we have a lot of fans trying to take the percieved injustice from the first fight into the the 2nd fight with a biased perception for GGG like you said.

In a fight as close as the rematch was, there's simply no argument for corruption. Canelo was the rightful winner and while I don't begrudge anyone for scoring it for GGG, as anyone is entitlted to their opinion, calling it a robbery is completely and utterly ridiculous and reeks of excessive over the top fanboyism.

I don't think you know how to properly score a fight.

Canelo lost. Press row ringside had him losing, the boxing media had him losing from US, UK, Argentina and elsewhere, 2,000 fans had him losing, boxing azteca Mexico had him losing. Vast majority on forums and social media had him losing.

But we're supposed to pretend he won? For what?

Do you think the allegations against Canelo, the perceived injustice from the first fight, and the biased HBO commentary had anything to do with that? Maybe if we accuse others of having pre-filled scorecards we should have a look at ourselves as well. I score a fight based on what I see happening in a fight, do you? Or do you appeal to the majority opinion? This is a subjective sport and there were many close rounds. Save the robbery/corruption talk for when it was warranted, claiming it in situations like this just takes away from when courruption/robbery actually happens.

We don’t have to pretend anything, Canelo did win. Or do you think a fight should be scored by drunk fans rather than official judges? Is that what you’re saying?

Its not pretending, he actually won the fight. Check the record.

I don't care too much what the press thinks, they aren't better at scoring fights just because they are the press.

I've been around boxing long enough to know a thing or two.

Remember the Mosley-DLH 2 fight that prompted an investigation into the fight by the FBI? The majority of the press had Mosley winning. Yup.

Many boxers had Canelo winning. I don't give two s**** what some boxing aficionados that lost money by betting on GGG have to say. The fight was relatively close and to call it a robbery is pure butthurtness.

I made a thread discussing the criteria used in scoring a fight. Many of the respondents thought landing more punches is the most important factor in scoring a fight.

You may be surprised to know that MOST spectators do not know how to score a fight.

In both fights Canelo won defense, clean punching, and in the first fight ring generalship and effective aggression was very even, in the rematch Canelo won all four.

Let's take each point in turn, and slowly, a thread where one boxer is compared to another, each one backed by its followers to an increasingly window-licking level. THIS SHOULD BE FUN :|your an absolute Troll of no significance at all!
