Joe Rogan Can See the Future

Check out this question posed to Joe Rogan on his website message board on March 31, 2003:

“I got a question for the guys who know the ufc fight game. If Brock Lesnar trained hard for a couple of years, do you think anyone out there could beat him in nhb fighting?”

    Rogan’s response:

“The guy is a huge ****ing monster, but I'm guessing he has zero striking skills.

That's the really hard **** to learn.

If he faces a guy his size that really knows how to strike (like Jerome LeBanner if he ever gets into MMA) and that guy can avoid being taken down, or can tire Lesnar out so that he can be an easy target, then he's ****ed.

But, if he seriously dedicated himself to it, within a few years, he would definitely be a threat to anyone. He's a big, bad dude.

As long as he was handled and trained properly and not rushed to the top, he would have a serious chance.

You'll never see it, though. there's just not enough money in the UFC right now”

Give Rogan credit, he nailed Lesnar right on the head, almost five years before Lesnar’s first fight.

Zero striking skills, susceptible to strikers, and he did in fact end up rushed to the top. And as soon as the money was right a few years later, Lesnar took up fighting.

Ironic how Rogan was surprisingly objective there. But hey i guess he has to do his job. As for stating the supremely obvious does he deserve any credit at all for these comments? As he wasn't beaten by a striker ala JLB. But he will be dashed to the four corners of the earth when he does face JDS who isnt even a fraction of the talent that prime JLB was.

    JDS will wreck Lesnar.

Rogan knows his stuff, when he's off-air.

Rogan is probably the most astute commentator in MMA and maybe ever. He is so far ahead of his peers it is insane. Unfortunately he works for the UFC and that is automatic hate.

When Rogan got pumped about Brock, we all did and rightly so. He had beaten Couture, Mir and Herring.

He was/is one dimensional but it will always be a hell of a dimension.

No he's not. Not even close. Bas Rutten is the best.
And there absolutely nothing to get pumped about Brock's victorys pre Cain. Rogan was MORE than aware of Brock's vast limitations. All of a sudden his stance changes once Brock enters the UFC. Coincidence? Oh wait a minute....

Yep, Bas and Mauro were the best combination IMO. Bas' knowledge is insane.

Bas is one of the greatest Mixed Martial Artist's of all time. He is also one of the most knowledgeable trainers in the history of this sport of which he was a pioneer. No one comes close to his depth of knowledge. Not even Mauro who in my opinion is far superior as a colour commentator to Rogan who is just a cheer leader.
Take Rogan out of the UFC and i have a lot of time for him. He becomes incredibly objective when on his own. But when in the UFC he schills blatantly for their fighters and the fans buy it because the other dickhead opposite him Golderberg knows about as much about MMA as most of the fans on Shitdog.

Imagine if for the Strikeforce show in Japan that Mauro shows up like usual but Gus Johnson is too exhausted from screaming for the NCCA tournament and they say **** it lets go old school and bring in Bas.

He missed the part about Lesnar having a Glass Jaw and turning his back and running from getting punched in the face which is hilarious to see from such a big guy. Lesnar is a one trick pony. His career is about to be over.

When someone is 2-1 in MMA and beats Randy Couture then that is one of the best, if not the best, achievement in the history of MMA!

Scur is going overboard as usual. Of course Brock gave people PLENTY to be excited for. The man walked into the UFC with just one MMA fight under his belt and beat Frank Mir, Heath Herring, Randy Couture, and Shane Carwin.

Gus Johnson is garbage. Plus he wears lipstick or has ridiculously pink lips for whatever reason... Bas all the way for me!
