Joe Rogan Praises Brock Lesnar

Rogan has stood next to Brock and spoken to him.

I think its one thing to call him deluded, but have you even had a 6'4" 260lbs+ man want to do damage to you?

He's not a great MMA fighter, but he is athletic and scary.

That's all I think Rogan is saying.

But if this is whats cool to Rogan, shouldn't he be involved in strong man competitions where he can gawk all over actual eastern euro guys who are all just like Brock, but about twice as strong?

Its just kind of odd to hear a guy go on about it as much as he has. Its something that needs to be brought up about Brock and addressed, but he just did it a bit too much. Its one thing to praise a guy, and another thing to juxtapose him into a seemingly homo erotic situation.

Thats all. Why not say something like, "yeah, the guy is huge. Reminiscent of the size and power of the Norwegian strongmen who claim Viking ancestry, Viking Power!"

Vs. "Yeah, I could just picture this guy dressed up as a viking, and me dressed up as a villager boy. He picks me up with his massive arms, and massive strength, all muscles glistening in animal fats, he throws me on some skins and wrestles me down with his great d1 pedigree, and has his way with anyone, he's the baddest man on the planet, who could resist."

Well, he didn't go that far, but its the next step. I see the glisten in Rogans eye when he talks about Lesnar.

 

Rogan is alright, just promoting the big guy. Just a bit funny compared to what we're used to in boxing.

 

He's just trying to be funny, people take things way too seriously

To be fair to Rogan, there's also a video of him on Youtube with Mike Schavello where he admits that Overeem would literally have killed Lesnar had it been him in the cage rather than Carwin.

 

This thread is full of straight up hateraid. How many of you if you were given the chance to be in Rogan's position think you could go day in and day out without saying something that the endless throng of internet nerds couldn't take out of context and hold up as some example of your bias?

 

Don't make excuses for em. Yes, he is a stoner but, he isn't some dumb **** off the street. He knows more about mma then the average fan and he still had it in his mind that size+athleticism=deity. Too many uneducated people forget about the art part of MMA and that's exactly what that beating Brock took was, a work of art. Oh, how the mighty have fallen :rofl.

 

I'm not making excuses for anyone. I'm calling you guys a bunch of haters which is the truth. I have more respect for someone that puts their neck on the line by putting their opinion out there for the whole world to scrutinize than I do a bunch of guys that hide behind screen names and contribute absolutely nothing to the world of MMA at large.

I dont always agree with Rogan's opinions but Im always entertained by the way he puts them across. It's pretty obvious he was one toke over the line in this vid, and some people are taking it way too seriously. When I 1st got into MMA, Rogan's commentary was invaluable in helping me understand the ground game a little bit and he'll always have my respect for that. He's a good commentator in my book. He calls it as HE see's it, what do you guys care if it isnt the same as how YOU see it. Just hit the mute button and enjoy the fights

 

I was listening to the podcast earlier from March or something and he got into his "Brock is a transcendent viking" bull**** and even I was a little "...really?". He seems to be so transfixed on the notion that Brock is this monster, he was saying how he'll take your punch and pick you up like a pillow and slam you the **** down and hit you with those two lunchbox fists. I definitely agree with him about Brock having amazing genetics and whatnot but I was just like "oh ****, son. Joe Rogan's ****ing high".
