Interesting argument vs a promoter and a UFC commentator. Most of what Rogan is saying is rubbish. But then equally Dibella is clearly not a fan of MMA at all.

The reality is this is a debate that MMA fanboys have started. They have along with Dana repeatedly bashed boxing to gain more leverage for MMA.I just dont get it.Its literally Apples and Oranges. There is no comparison whatsoever despite whatever both sides think.

Alot of boxing pundits and boxing fans have bashed MMA.
I don't know who started it but both sides get in on it.

If you are a fan of combat you'd like both. It's all just bollocks. Dana was trying to make boxing the scape goat. Thankfully boxing stepped up to the plate. At the same time boxers were trying to make out MMA were street fighters.

It was all just bollocks and thankfully has died down.

I think when People say Dana is shitting on boxing it's not because of entertainment value...but rather the way it's runned,,,like having 4 champs in every weight division 4pounds apart with minium 4 belts per division and alot of times not facing each other. Boxing has more championship belts then anyone could ever imagine....at least with having 1 main org like UFC it's controled and doesn't become a travestity like boxing. Let's be honest having a UFC belt has to be more coveted then an ABC boxing belt....every time I watch a boxing match it seems every one has a belt.

I'm so tired of this argument it's not even funny. I like both sports, and I like both pretty equally. But when boxing fans start bashing MMA, or MMA fans start bashing boxing, I get pissed. The fans of only one of those sports tend to be the most ignorant and ill-informed people I've stumbled across on the Internet, and that says a lot.

I don't see why they both think there can be only one major combat sport. I'm pretty sure they can co-exist, and fans like me are proof that neither is "stealing" fans from the other. Basketball and hockey and baseball can all exits together. I think MMA and boxing can get along.

But Lou describing MMA as "human cockfighting" is just an ignorant response to his sports declining popularity...I'm a boxing fan but hearing him try to diss MMA like that sounded like a racoon that get's backed into a corner...he was desparate...and sounded ******ed saying that....boxing will be just fine...he didn't need to make himself sound so defensive.....at least I thought.....

What he says about MMA is the same as the garbage Dana White says about boxing. They're both idiots and see each other as the enemy. Sadly, they don't understand that both can do well in this world. They don't need to destroy each other, and quite frankly, I wouldn't be too happy if one of my favorite sports got erased (whether it be boxing or MMA).

difference is Dana doesn't slam the sport so much as how it is runned...big difference...in boxing with no governing org...that's where the prob's start...Lou describing MMA as "human cockfighting" is a very ignorant man in my opinion. And sounds like he is threatened by MMA

Dana has said some things about boxing that are just as far out there. See, you're drawing a line in the sand, saying that boxing going after MMA is more wrong than MMA going after boxing. I see no line in the sand. They're both good sports, they're both fun to watch, but they're both full of problems.

And yeah, what Lou says is crap.

There was UFC v Pride and that lacked unfication. UFC also have interim belts.

Now Pride is gone M1, K1, A1, T1 seem to be taking over.

Boxing has been around for YEARS, in time UFC could face the same fate.

UFC are clever cos they are making out to a degree that they are the only MMA org that matters.

Lou was respectful but Joes approach was all wrong and forced Lou to stray a bit from being respectful.

Joe could have easily won this debate as DiBella's knowledge of MMA is minimal. But, he decided to bash boxing, making some really stupid points in the process. Rogan had the chance to take the higher ground and simply praise the good qualities of both sports, but he didn't.
There are a lot of people like myself who are both boxing and MMA fans. I'd don't appreciate either sport get unfairly criticized.

The only thing that was paramount from there debate was ignorance.
