Last I read, Joe Santiago was a guy who helped Arum organize shows in PR.

Joe Santiago is Cotto's best friend and nutritionist, he was Evagelista's assistant, very bad move, the guy has no real experience.

So far all I've read is that he is Cotto's nutritionist and is Arum's right hand man when it comes to making cards for the shows that happen in PR.

It sounds like the plan is familiarity for this fight. I have a hard time imagining Santiago staying on longer than the Clottey fight.

At the same time though I figured Tito Trinidad would've dropped the dope that was his dad long ago...and that never happened.

I think this is an excellent move. No need to bring in an outsider with a dangerous opponent coming up in a couple of months.

It's up on Nuevo Dia. Good luck finding an English language source.

Also, his training camp will be in Tampa, FL.

At El Nuevo Dia Cotto said that he knows Santiago since he was 14 years old so, I can only imagine that Santiago knows much about Cotto as anyone else. Plus Cotto's dad who is a great amateur trainer gave his blessing on this. I hope it works out but God... Did this had to happen for the Clottey fight? :patsch This should had happen with Gomez or someone like that.

Anyway, I'll give it a vote of confidence right now.

Basically the source talks a lot about his confrontation with Evangelista and they are talking about a police investigation and he just says he's leaving it to them. It says the reason for his arguement with Evangelista was apparently his decision to leave Puerto Rico and train for the Clottey fight in Tampa instead.

He then just goes on to talk a bit about Santiago, saying he's like family and he likes to keep things personal, ie work with someone close.
