Nothing much better than sitting back on a weekend afternoon with a diablo sandwich and a Dr. Pepper and watching Smokey and the Bandit.

Surely ol' Joe had a tougher chin than that

Louis would have finished Savage quicker than he finished Galento and Savage wouldn`t have landed a punch, he was clumsy as hell v Cooper.

Where did I say anything about Savage? Tank Murdock was a modern-day Galento, only tougher.

Philo Beddoe was a bareknuckled wonder who had power and skill uncommon for those who fought on the cobbles.

Look them up and educate yourself.

Bareknuckle fighters are badly schooled and have no savvy at all.

    You’ve never seen Philo Beddoe.

Unfortunately the only film of Tank Murdoch is vs. Beddoe when he’s way post-prime but the man was a legend. You should take a few minutes to educate yourself.

Everyone. Including Beddoe, although the belief is that Beddoe, after dominating, laid down because he didn’t want to take on the mantle of being the “new Tank Murdock” and have to live that life.

    See for yourself:

Murdock is a fictional character akin to Rocky Balboa

I wonder how far Joe Savage would have gotten vs a 1951 Joe Louis?

But I thought you said that Joe Louis was washed up by that time.
