Boxnation card on April 12th that also has Paul Butler fighting for the Commonwealth belt. Really good fight this, thought O'Sullivan got a lucky decision against Matthew Hall and Selkirk has been talked about for a while as a talented fighter who can't get fights. So this is a big opportunity for him and he's got home advantage. For the WBO Interthingy Middleweight title though atsch. Hopefully the winner ends up fighting BJS for the British title.
Good fight & its nice to Selkirk against a decent opponent. I know a lot of scousers on here really rate him as a talent
I think Bellew said he (meaning Bellew) was the 2nd most talented guy in his gym, since Selkirk trains there as well.
Yeh have always rated him very highly in terms of talent I think he is one of the best in the country but his progress has been very slow for a number of reasons I blame fish eyes for his inactivity but his injuries havn't helped and some people question his commitment to the sport.
Selkirk is good but I have to question his changing of trainers as much as his lack of activity as to whether he is cut out for this game. He needs consistency both in fights and his set up and a bit of luck with injuries. Top class am with real power. Just hasnt really happened for him in the pro game... :conf
For those that are interested here is Selkirk knocking Ogogo all over the ring in the ams http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rKJW3jVUXo
Hall clearly won o'sullivan, surprised he didn't get a rematch. I fancy Selkirk to win, what weight is this at?
I thought O'Sullivan won that fight against Hall, close fight though. Whats the story with Selkirk, where's he been? He was being bigger up for a while I seem to remember, haven't heard of him fighting for a good amount of time...
But Ogogo went and got the Medal while has been sat on his ass most of the time. Good fight for Selkirk now. He has move up to MW and is based in Maklina gym in Marbella.
