honestly id love to see an 8 man eliminator with ward,kovalev,gvodsyk,beterbiev,bivol,smith,stevenson, alavarez and hot rod . or any combo of these guys fighting, i just want to see the best fight the best regularly

smith is in a terrible division though so many very hard fights, he has no easy path

 

He doesn't seem like he cares, which is the right attitude. He is not a full time fighter and this just might be his big break. Guys like this become legends. He was not groomed into this business and he knows what's on the line. Money for his family or back to the worksite swinging hammers and working in the sun.
Chances make champions. I like what this guy has done , even if he beat the **** out of one of my favorite fighters, Fonfara.

 

thats true, i think having to actually work a real job probably means he realises how lucky he is to be given the opportunity in boxing more so than other fighters that are inactive.

I think id prefer to do construction than face some of them 175 fighters though

 

Joe needs a ring name. with his fighting style his name should be Joe the predator smith.

I would definitely pick Stevenson to win by KO.

But i would definitely root for Smith Jr to win by KO.

i brought it up because during seanies last fight the commentator kept bringing up how seanie told him how he had been sparring with beterbiev and how hard he said it was. seanie looked terrible in that fight compared to usual, he serious looked shot and sturggled to a very close win over a very poor opponent

they must be insane, i wouldn't let my fighter spar with him unless he was wearing them comical over sized gloves

 

**** poor mgmt and a disservice to the fighter.

Its one thing to gauge your fighters level by testing him against someone like Beterbiev, but it's best to bring your guy to his camp, let Beterbiev pay Seanie, and then walk away when your dominated and make the necessary adjustments in styles.
Nothing wrong with admitting to your fighter he's not on that level. No need to make him **** blood for a week and lose every ounce of confidence he'd had previously.
One session would be enough to see the difference in levels, and his team could say, you were cold, he was more prepared, or call it a poor styles match, but from what I understand, it was a brutal camp, and several sessions....
