He's obviousy isn't on those guys level but he is a fun fighter to watch and matched right can make for some fun fights.

What's crazy is that in a year without any standouts Smith just put his name in the mix for fighter of the year. 3-0(3ko's) with a first round ko over top 10 Fonfara and a stoppage of a legend.

I wouldn't be shocked if Hopkins comes back for one last fight. He might not want to end his career by being knocked out of the ring but at 52 I think he ultimately stays retired.

 

Hopkins said now he will never fight again.

 

Yeah he probably doesn't fight again but he wouldn't be the first fighter to say he's done and then fights again.

 

That's crazy to think about. Smith actually has a reasonable chance at FOTY. I think WBC needs to revoke their prospect of the year award and hand it to Smith as well.

 

Year 2 years later with inactivity. Bhop didnt win a minute of that fight against Kova, didnt really watch the Smith fight besides the ending but loads had him winning rds.

 

Smith will take over the same way Algeri did.

 

Beterbiev would kill Joe. It would not even be competitive.

 

I don't think he wins foty but his name is clearly in the mix now and with a year of no clear favorite who knows.
