Can we put this guy in with someone who isn’t completely hopeless?

 

Jared Anderson looks like a chef with this white hat. I was close to order a pizza, when they showed him in his dressing room.

 

I thought the last guy, Ibeh, was a good opponent. He was good enough to make Guido Vianello look like a worse prospect than a lot of people believed.

Karpency is a definite step down from that...but managed to hug his way through a handful of rounds with Kuzmin a few years ago.

 

And people wonder why boxing isnt in such a good shape with the american public, you have a guy with a chef robe come in and punch a person on the stomach thats hired to lose, then you have ward saying that fights like this are a must for a prospect.

Jared Anderson has a lot of talent. They don’t need to move him THIS slowly. He’s very refined for a 21 year old. Give him someone in the top 30-40.

 

I don't have a huge problem with his pace to date, Ibeh was even a touch adventurous. The problem is he's getting a ton of premature attention because there's a big hole between Wilder, Ruiz, Ortiz, and Hunter who are prime/past prime and Anderson who is green.

Someone about 24-25 who has stepped up and is about ready to contend. I think that hole was supposed to be filled by Darmani Rock but he's a burnout.

 

I didn't like this matchup either but...

Oscar Rivas fought Karpency in his 20th fight

Sergey Kuzmin fought Karpency in his 13th fight

I don't think Karpency is any better than he was on those evenings...but this is Jared's 9th fight.

 

Jared has already fought 3 guys better than Karpency (Hernandez, Langston, and Ibeh). I'm honestly a little surprised he was fighting tonight because his last fight was only 8 weeks ago. Guess they wanted him on TV...

 

Anderson already has a very solid resume for 9 pro fights. He fought some solid guys like Ibeh, Rodney and Langston. Very decent guys and above the average journeyman level. I give him a pass here.

 

It’s his handlers. It’s not him.

 

So we wait til 10 for Efe now?

 

Yeah, I think they just wanted to keep Jared's name in the news. Pretty risky when the mismatch is this obvious.
