Yes, it was an amazing and rare finish in a boxing match, but Jesus Christ.. Joe Tessitore reacted like Chavez vs Meldrick Taylor just happened. Anyways.. is anyone else a little bit hyped up for the Butler-Ahunanya fight? I think there's a very good chance of another ESPN headline upset here.
Ahunanya just hurt Butler, knocked him down, then looked too tired to fire off punches and let Butler get back into the fight. Both of them aren't looking look right now. Friday needs to time him with a right hand when Butler lunges in wrecklessly with his chin out.
Ahunanya looks fatter than he was before and even more slow. He should have ended the fight after knocking Butler down. Now, the fight looks like it could go either way. They're both gassed, but Butler has the advantage in styles and can win using less energy than Ahunanya.
Alonzo Butler is ****, Ahuhanya is fat, basically a journeyman and scared to finish him off but he's going to win this fight unless Butler does something big. Butler is 6ft6 and massive, yet he's getting backed up by a short guy who barely throws any punches. Poor.
What kind of bull**** was that? Ahunanya had Butler bouncing all over the ring after hurting him with a jab, then the ref stepped in and and gave Butler a chance to get his composure back. It might have not made a difference, but still, a stoppage could have happened right when the ref stepped in.
Doesn't one of Friday's cornermen post on here? If so, I suspect he's feeling pretty pleased right now, win or lose.
I hope Ahunanya doesn't get robbed. This is the second unbeaten prospect in a row he's beaten, he should get a bigger fight after this. The guy has heart, he just doesn't have stamina, fights like a 45 year old, and can't finish an opponent after hurting him. Does anyone know what he weighed in at?
Ahunanya wins! Sucks that they didn't have betting lines for this fight for some strange reason. :| A C performance by Ahunanya and a D performance by Butler. Hopefully he can make some more money after this.
Well deserved victory for Ahunanya!:happy He's a tough guy with alot of heart, but really he needs to work on his stamina. Hopefully he gets a nice payday after exposing two undefeated prospects in a row.
Tessitore tends to WAY overreact to just about anything that's remotely exciting. Still, it was pretty wild. I've been watching boxing for 30 years, pretty much weekly, thousands of fights - and I've NEVER seen anything like that.
Tessitore just about had an orgasm when Miranda Ko'd Banks recently. He made it sound like it was Ray Robinson sprawled out along the ropes.
