I like Joyce but can't read too much into this win as Takam while still game and a difficult guy to get to is over the hill.

I just hope they don't sit around and take easy fights on the off chance that he may get to fight the winner of Usyk/Joshua/Fury/Wilder in 18 months time.

The belts are tied up for the next 2 years so forget them and make some interesting fights. Next fight has to be a step up from Takam.

I thought Joyce looked incredibly easy to hit, I suspect he'll line up Ortiz next ,,,,he's 42.

Yes I agree . Cool as a cucumber with a hard pole like jab .also has a great engine . Seems cold and unemotional while
Taking fighters apart . Dangerous fighter.

I hope you're right and he makes the Ortiz fight.

He is easy to hit when he fights like that, which is most of the time, luckily he has a good chin. He fought more cautiously and boxed more vs Dubois, rarely opening up like he did and leaving himself open to counter like vs Takam. I suspect if he does fight Ortiz we'll see him behind his jab more again and wait til old man Ortiz tires and slows enough to take him out, much like how Wilder did.

Now I'm not gonna say Joe's actually got fast hands and he's trolling us (lol) but watch the three-punch combo at the beginning of round six - time stamped. That's not slow and it's also a sign of his ring IQ as Takam had been hurt in round five and it was thrown right at the start of the sixth to maximise the surprise element...

Joyce is not unstoppable. He gets hit too easily and a power puncher would drop him on accumulation. I think Wilder is a terrible matchup for Joyce. Wilder will have an easy time connecting with the right hand and if he lands flush, it's lights out.

AJ would stop him. Whyte could stop him.

If Wilder can hurt him with one punch then yes it's an awful match up for Joyce because he will get hit with the right hand we know it's inevitable.

But if Joyce is durable enough to take the right hand, I don't see him grinding Joyce down't he's more a sniper type puncher, hits you with powerful single shots, he's not the type to hit you over and over again and break you down.

I suspect if they were too fight Joyce would have some success, probably be up on the cards but he'll get caught and get hurt and Wilder will finish him there and then. It's still a fight I'd like to see though, either Joyce takes every Wilder right hand like nothing and Wilder pees his pants when he realises he can't hurt him or Wilder delivers a highlight reel KO, either way we're entertained.

Joyce has been dropped before and he was stopped. He can take punches for sure, but only up to a certain point. Margarito had a granite chin, but he couldn't handle Shane Mosley's power. Joyce will run into his Shane Mosley if he doesn't tighten up his defense.

Yeah I've seen that before. Scary thing is he gets right back up and doesn't even look hurt after taking such a hard punch.

None bet one cent on him with Dubois. Instead he won.

I was backing Joyce in that fight and I predicted he would win. He was a Olympic silver medals and I would not pick a guy like Dobois to beat him.
