A lot of you are morons.
At this point in Calzaghe career its about the money.
He is close to retirement and a fight with Jones is a bigger pay day. More of the world's population has heard of Roy Jones Jr. than Calzaghe AND Pavlik put together which mean more PPV dollars which means a bigger percentage earned by Calzaghe. His legacy is further enhanced by beating one of the all time greats in Jones than in Pavik at this point.
Its a career move and a money move. Its an all around smart move.

This is a smart move money wise, but poor legacy wise. Joe will be remember as the guy who beat an old hopkins and an old jones. That will damage his legacy in the long run.

If Calzaghe decides to cash out with a fight against Jones, then so be it. It'll be a big sell. But it does his legacy little to no good, especially when he could fight Pavlik and/or the winner of a Dawson - Tarver fight.

No, it isn't. This W will do nothing for his career if the historians of our time have their say.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWDtzdAYTOA - Interview which took place earlier on this year with Calzaghe, go to 6:33 mark. Can't hate on the guy for making money but the u-turn doesn't make him look good. If RJJ is his next fight it still wouldn't surprise me if he fights Pavlik next year, if the money is right.

The freaking guy is on record he saying Roy Jones would a "a bit of a let down. He was a great fighter, but he's not anymore." And then said his first choice would be Kelly Pavlik.

shame it's jones instead of pavlik.

still think jones is a good fighter.

but hasn't got the workrate anymore to match calzaghe. :-(

it's gonna be a fairly predictable fight i think.

jones picking out the odd shot and then going to the ropes and getting out flurried by calzaghe and losing rds. :bbb
