Hopkins is not a power puncher. He doesn't win by knocking people out, he beats them on skill.

Calzaghe is a ducking, money grabbing cowardly ****.

I have defended this guy all his career, but this confirms my worst fears. He is a ducker, and would rather make money than take on the best. He finally has the chance to get any fight he wants, and he goes for the big name, easy money old man. He is a *****, and I hope Roy Jones spanks him. Calzaghe - Pavlik is probably the biggest fight in boxing now that Mayweather has retired.

Calzaghe would rather make a few million in front of his ignorant Welsh fans in Cardiff, who will claim that Calzaghe is greater than Jones if he wins..

    makes you sick.

Yeah but to say he doesnt have power was extreme, he can bang if he wants.

Anyway id rather see the jones fight for calzaghe at this point because i think he would school pavlik no bother, pavs great but he hasnt been in with a real boxer yet, i think Abraham will give pavlik a nightmare also.

mate you have also got to remember the history between cal and jones, they are long time arch enemies and calzaghe has been wanting the fight for a looooong time, its not just about the money here i think, i seriously think joe wants to settle long time arguments, id rather see the fight now than not at all personally! Also i think jones as old and faded as he is will give calzaghe WAY more problems than pavlik currently.

Calzaghe recovers fast but is rightfully worried that if he got knocked down 2-3 times in a fight with Pavlik, it would be difficult to outpoint him. The chances of Calzaghe hurting Pavlik are zero. He had to watch Lockett get mugged by Pavlik who is starting to peak and is still improving. Face it, you don't have to call it ducking, because they're not even in the same division, but get it right, Joe Calzaghe wants no part of Kelly Pavlik. That kncokdown in the Hopkins fight has him thinking - Kelly hits perhaps twice as hard as any opponent of Calzaghe's - certainly the no-names like Salem and Bika and including the Lacy's and Hopkins' of the world.

Actually he said he didn't want the Pavlik fight at this time. He said facing Roy in November is the fight he wants. He also said he's only going to fight one more time then retire. So you can take that anyway you'd like.

Personally, I have no problem with Calzaghe facing Roy. Calzaghe has already secured his legacy and has had a great career. There's no need for him to take on a young, relentless fighter like Pavlik. Jones has the bigger name, and Calzaghe can cash out with a good win over Jones.

Damn this sucks, I really wanted to see Pavlik - Calzaghe. Oh well, you really can't blame Calzaghe for being aprehensive about fighting Pavlik.

he has been down 5 times in his career, Joe has been down 3 times.

Remember how Pavlik was in round 2 agaisnt Taylor, u reckon Calzaghe would let him off in that situation? Calzaghe is more likley to KO Someone than Taylor.

Bronco McKart and Zuniga have also had pavliks eriosuly hurt, and he almost got KO by a journeyman in his 7th fight apparently.
