Im the only one who would have called the fight a draw? Cant actually believe that.

I had it dead even, but joes face at the bell he didnt think he won atall, in fact his face was that of a beaten guy and I think although he wont admit it, felt he didnt do enough to get the win.

Terrible fight but Calzaghe won, close but clear IMO.

Can't see anyway to give Hopkins enough rounds for the win.

It was a poor performence from Joe, but take into account that Joe "Fruitcake" Cortez allowed Hopkins to cheat at will it was not perhaps that shitty. I have never seen a fight with so much holding before.

In any case, the butthurt is really epic. Hopkins is an ATG and ranked above Calzaghe in any case, so why are people so upset?

Hopkins threw 468 punches landing 127 at 27%
Calzaghe threw 707 punches landing 232 at 33%

How can someone who landed almost double the amount of punches lose a fight?

By the way that is a rhetorical question.

I am not sure it would hav gone either way but true it way more competitive than you'd expect from entering the ring with a 43 year old. It would only truely have gone either way if Bernard was about 50% more fit than he was in this fight (ie gassing in round 8 instead of round 5).

Calzaghe knew that Bhop wouldnt be able to match his pace from the outset, so its clear he knew it was a safe fight for him, I think if he played it safe he knew it was a forgone conclusion.

What made it more unpredictable than that is that Cal forgot that Bernard was a past master.

    115-113 Calzaghe

Hopkins was being effective but he couldnt keep up with the pace Calzaghe set in the fight and had to resort to faking low blows, quite frankly im surprised a point wasnt deducted from Bernard

It would be impossible to have a draw in this situation. . . If it was 6-6, Hopkins wins 114-113 (score the racist judge had). . .

If it was 7-5 Calzaghe, then he wins 114-113. . .

I guess if there were some 10-10 rounds, then possibly. Did you have 10-10 rounds?

I think we should make a thread studying each round

fight was easy to score. neither fighter hardly landed anything (but calzaghe slapped way more).
The rounds where hopkins landed anything he won and the other rounds, calzaghe won on mere work rate (although he didnt land anything).
Had it 6-6 in rounds, hopkins winning thx to knockdown.

If we debate about each rd with a poll then we can see who really won

Any joe fan want to do this

I had Bhop up by a few points but I could see how it you could score it a draw.

Yeah, I thought Joe thought he loss. Its funny passionate Calslappy fans are about this fight Because it is Joe biggest "win" or only real big "win". The guy has a **** legacy and if fans believe that Bhop won they will fight tooth and nail to change their minds. Its as almost as Pathetic as Lennox TKO 6:-(
