Joe wins a lopsided decision. I would absolutely LOVE IT if Roy turned back the clock and brutally ko'd Calzaghe but it ain't gonna happen. I hope i am not the only one who is DISGUSTED with Calzaghe the general consensus p4p number 2 for taking this joke of a fight.

Yep one would think Joe would be way 2 fast for RJJ with 3 times the work rate.

Smartest fight out there for him. Massive money. He'd be nuts to turn it back.

Yeah i understand this, doesn't mean we should be happy about it but he has been basically wasting his whole career with **** fights for good money. I don't give him any credit for beating a 43 yr old Hopkins and certainly will give him zero props if he beats Roy. Same as i don't give Lennox Lewis any credit for beating old Holyfield and Tyson.

Many may claim to not want this fight to happen, but I bet everyone will be watching it.

A typical boxing fan comment...hindsight is 20/20. Hopkins whipped Tarver and Wright, and was recognised as THE Light Heavyweight champion but suddenly that's not good enough? Jones has won his last 3, is past his best but perhaps he has one last great performance left. Perhaps not.

If you don't give Lewis credit for Holyfield something is wrong with you.

Seriously how much credit do you give Lennox for his win over Evander. Yeah Roy has won his last 3 but the level of opposition was suspect for a top tier fighter. Those 3 wins don't mean anything.
As i said earlier i will be supporting Roy but it would have to be one of the biggest upsets in recent years for him to pull off a victory. Some might say he has a punchers chance but Calzaghe has a top class beard on him. Calzaghe will be very active as he usually is and Roy won't be doing enough to win 7 out of 12 rds imo.

I dont know who takes this one just yet, because im not a big fan of either fighter.
But i am lookin forward to seeing the pre fight build up, kinda weird both roy and joe promoting the fight. i like respect between fighters but not chummy ****, i want tons of smack talk, both of these guys are great at it.

Calzaghe wins - too fast, too busy and far too much stamina for the depleted RJJ.

Nothing wrong with him taking this fight - it's a massive payday and he's fought and beaten the recognised #1 LHW in Hopkins, unified SMW against the #2 recognised SMW in Kessler, spanked the daylights out of the next big thing at SMW from the US in Lacy, and fought a solid contender at SMW in Bika in his last 5 fights. The only blot is Manfredo in amongst that, and that was to increase his profile in the US - it obviously paid off, because look who his last 2 opponents are :deal

For a fighter who is 36, at the end of his career, was having trouble making SMW and suffers from brittle hands, I think that's a bloody good run.

I give Lennox all the credit in the world for his 2 fights against Holyfield. I'm a Holyfield supporter, have been since I was a kid, but Lewis hammered Evander in the first fight, probably the last Heavy battle to completely capture the world's attention. He won the return, even though it was close and a case could be made for either fighter. Evander still had gas left in the tank at this point.

Surely Jones has accomplished enough to get one last hurrah and the chance to further cement his legacy? Lesser fighters have got it.

Il watch it, but this is not a good fight for either of them. Just like the Hopkins fight.

Calzaghe wont get a ton of respect for beating guys waaaaaay past their best. These guys wont gain anything by losing to Calz.

Will do nothing for the legacy but will be a nice payday for both.

Still though, Ill watch it, like most people who are even half interested in boxing.
