17 year old ward handed egan a comprehensive loss last year in the senior finals and this year they go head-to-head in the final again on friday. ward dropped him en route to a great win.

I fancy Ward to beat him even easier than last year

Ward is one to watch for sure. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this 17 year old kid giving Olympic (should be gold) medalist, Kenny Egan, a hiding last year.

reckon ward will win but it'll be a bit closer this year. Think Egan seems more focused this time around but Ward is a special talent, and I reckon he'll win about 12-8.

Horrible, horrible. horrible, no wonder a lot of top amateurs dont make it because the the two codes are so far apart its unbelievable. Anyway Ward is young, dont stay am too long.

Hes only 18 I suppose, he could wait until after the 2016 olympics and he still would be well young enough to go pro. If he medals at London I would like to see him turn over, but he most likely wont imo.

A few month ago it would have been Ward all the way but the last 3/4 weeks Egan seems to have found his confidence again and i think he will take beating.

Would love to have seen him turn pro.

Yeah, he was young when he won his first olympic gold, about 20 or so. Hes another who could easily win a world title in his first 10 fights:deal

really looking forward to the day that Ward goes pro, and I think he will eventually. He could very well be a heavyweight by that time aswell. Have Ireland ever had a world class heavyweight before?:D

I reckon Egan sneaks it. This is a real pick 'em fight. You can analyse it all you want but at the end of the day your prediction will be determined by your gut reaction.

So much at stake aswell - one fighter possibly solidifying his status as the best Irish light heavy of all time and another fighter literally staking his claim to take that mantle and all of this taking place in an Olympic year..
