Why doesn't this bloke turn pro now he ain't going to make Rio so he might as well try and make a bit of coin. He looks a bit big (fat) for 175lbs though but he's way small for 200lbs and will get crushed there. I can't wait to see how he goes as I believe he is way way overrated.
http://www.irishtimes.com/sport/oth...back-to-olympic-qualification-hopes-1.2240569 Looks like he's not good enough, couldn't make them in 2012 either. Might not be Olympic level.
Seems like Andre's little brother's chances are in the pro ranks then. Haven't seen the fight, but being stopped on your feet in the am ranks is often equivalent to receiving a British stoppage in the pro game, so he might not have a bad chin afterall. And at the time he reaches contender level (if he's even good enough of course) the LHW landscape might be completely different by then.
he has many more attempts to qualify and he got robbed in the 2012 qualifiers, but a casual like you wouldn't know much about olmypic boxing
the stoppage was very weird, ward gassed badly and basically put his hands down by his side and took punches in the face until the ref stopped the fight, first he gave him a standing 8 then waved it off, ward didn't even look buzzed by the punches, he just walked back to the corner after it not a care in the world needs to get dedicated and work out his fitness
Lazy ****er, mate of mine trained with him in the Irish team and said he was a lazy ****er, all the talent in the world but wont train hard.
Thats why he's overrated he's good but not great. Ppl been claiming he's like a p4p top amateur. (Even though I think p4p is bs but just saying. David Nyika would punch holes in him.
If he has that many chances how come he didn't qualify in 2012? That article made it sound like last chance saloon.
He does look a talent but yeah I could see a bit of laziness there. Maybe $$$ could make him train a bit harder. I see he's 6ft1 and not small by any means. How does he even make 81kgs. Must train a bit decent.
only 2 chances to qualify for the 2012 Olympics and he lost on countback at the first when he was 17 and robbed at the second
He is world class, no way is he overated, on his day he makes the best look stupid, he made Mechkonshev look like an amateur when he beat him and Ivanov couldnt lay a glove on him when Ward beat him as a 17 year old, he also beat Adilbek Niyazymbetov comfortably, when he is training hard he would make anyone look foolish, needs to get the head down or he will throw his talent away..
just won silver in the world championships and qualified for the Olympics guess you were wrong oh ya and nyika could get past the first round
