exactly, Lacy beat an old Reid and Pemberton yet was favourite v Joe, up until 2 weeks ago Dawson would hammer Joe, its the US public grasping for some hope in an ever declineing US-boxing.

being unbeatten doesnt mean that you will become a legend. Joe's problem is he is yet to beat another top fighter in his prime. I think that its a must for fighters to have beatten top elite fighters of his era.

I would compare Calzaghe to Ricardo Lopez, weak resume may be his downfall.

Now Im not saying that Calzaghe wont become a HOFer, I dont have a vote and if I did Im not sure I wouldnt vote him in. But HOFer and LEGEND isnt the same thing.

Hey. why is it suddenly about me.. Anyway still not interested about euro fighters. Their best is a big disappointment. Hatton who has a boring /lots of hugging style (im so happy he got ktfo) and Calzaghe who almost got beat by a Grandpa :)

Of course they CAN be made, I just fear that a lot of potential awesome matchups wont be made due to politics, money, dodging or a dozen other reasons but I'm hoping for the best!

it boils Down to competition plain and simple, champions/legends fight the best fight available and dont try to pad their record their entire career .

I'm not trying to deny Pavlik is a top drawer boxer, he beat Jermaine Taylor and that's as much credentials as I need to see from him but this notion that a fighter has to have fought nothing but HOFers his whole career to be considered great is nonsense.

For example, Joe has been in the US limelight for what (I dunno) 3 years now?

Jermaine Taylor himself only started adding great fighters to his resume 4 years ago, probably starting with Marquez. Some may disagree with that but hey!

What you say about the decline of boxing is correct, it is on the ropes in the US for sure. 14k at a headliner fight of the year is terrible. Indoor Bowls could generate a bigger audience than that in the UK. Fans make the event, not PPV figures and sponsorships.

He's the REAL CHAMPION and that carries respect in itself. Pavlik is a very good fighter and these type of fights earn tons of respect.

    Real Champion?

Calzaghe is the Unified champion of the SMW division and got there by beating another 2 title holding undefeated champion in Kessler.

He just beat the L-Champ of the LH division also. This does not carry any respect for you? Hopefully JC will take on RJJ, Pavlik & Tarver and then retire to put paid to all this crap.

Oh, and before you say it, I forgot, there's no respect for the SMW div in the US, Kesslers a protected Eurobum and Hopkins is a shot old man.

Why would joe be considered a legend anyway? his best wins were what? an over the hill and underprepared eubanks, an overrated lacy, an untested kessler, and an old hopkins that didnt even come to fight. and he looked like **** winning it anyway. if joe isnt considered a legend its because the level of his competition has been sub par.

and in the bhop fight his ugly slaps were comical. i used to be a big calzaghe fan but that fight was pathetic.
