Your clueless. It was Warren who spoke with Don King and made the MAB fight after watching him in China. He's recited the story countless times in interviews. When your going to create some bull**** story about how Warren was shocked perhaps go read his previous statements first
Not an interesting fight imo, Casa isn't anything like he used to be. Although not too long ago he was giving JMM all he could handle and knocked out Kats so he does have something left. I don't think his style matches up well against Khans at this point in time.
Im not saying its always right my point was they are always roughly 50-50 ( even on fights that probably aren't i.e Hatton v Pac ) but the Khan Barrera one was massively in Khans favour so all this pish about everyone thinking it was 50-50 is just that ...pish ! Or as I said I am the only one that knows boxing , Barrera was obviusly sacrificial , he knew it , Warren knew , I knew it , Khan knew it !
Nope Im seriously asking you to tell me ANY 38 year old LW who has significant wins , Peterson is a hungry , ranked LWW
Well according to the you boys Im the only one on the planet who knew old Barrera was being thrown to the lions
Duran was pushing 38 when he beat Barkley. Do you mean you'd give Casamayor a chance at middleweight, just not at light welterweight? Peterson is 'ranked' primarily on the basis of his nationality. His actual achievements don't back it up.
OK ****flap, watch the Warren interview at the end of Friday Fight Night on 16/1/2009 and tell me he wasn't bricking it...he seemed to be washing his hands of the whole thing. Roach picked that fight, not Warren
No but having moved up in weight he was fighting at a slower pace ( and with all respect to Casa m, he aint ****ing Duran ) so the only one you can find is a ring legend against a decent ( but only decent ) Barkely. I've seen a lot of peterson I like him, but thats neither here nor there Cob I know you're a smart guy and I like your post so I really dont want to get into a slagging match. If you wanna believe it'll be a decent or competitve fight thats your right bud. But I've no interest in watching Khan tear up another guy whos years past his best and out of his weight class. I dont hate Khan , he can be great for british boxing, I even reckon his chin has improved at the higher weight I'm just sick of what appears to be very cynical match making
Here's what I think. If Khan turns out too fast, too big and too good for Casamayor, then I won't be particularly shocked. But people are talking like Casamyor is proven to be shot to pieces. A KO of Katsidis and competitive fight with a P4P top three in Marquez does not prove that. A couple of years on and time may well have caught up with him, but we won't know that until the fight happens. A Peterson fight has question marks for different reasons. Peterson was well beaten by Bradley the only time he has been at world class level. I don't understand people picking at Khan for fighting 'another' fighter out of his weight class. Khan has three fights at LWW and three fights since first challenging for a world title. Salita was a manatory. The other two, Kotelnik and Malignaggi, were against proven top ten LWWs and he dominated both. Alexander is fighting Kotelnik next. Bradley called out Malignaggi after his last fight. Casamayor is decent as a stay busy fight. Peterson would be decent. Katsidis would be decent. All of them Khan would be expected to win. All of them are better than not fighting until November.
Anyone who say Barrera in his LW tuneups knew Khan would **** it. I don't mind Casa being a tuneup, just don't put it on PPV! Schaefer's saying the winner of Khan-Casa could fight the winner of JMM-Diaz II, now that would **** a lot of people off. Fighting 2 LWs in a row when the LWW division is stacked is not on. But it might not happen anyway...
