everything you say there is true, I guess Im just frustrated , I know Khan can be special in his own right he doesn't need protected anymore. I accept that this is a keep busy fight but I'm just itching for him to prove that he is a true champion and take on someone who has at least a 50% chance of beating him.

I'm sick of our two best fighters ( khan and haye ) seemingly hiding behind lesser belts ( wether they truly are or not is almost irrelevant ). Only Froch ( the least skilfull of three ) has been showing cajones of late.

But I accept your point , I'll just have to hope his next fight is a true challenge !

I really was hoping for the Katsidis fight to come off, this fight will be like a sparring session.

I guess for a keep busy fight its O.K, i just hope they make the Maidana fight in the winter in the states.

Yeah not really happy with this match up, i knew after they were on about keep busy fight and with only 10 weeks from May 15th to July 31 that this was not enough time for a real test and Roach stated this.

I will be on holiday for this fight anyway, hopefully GBP can make Maidana-Khan winter in Vas Vegas.

For a keep busy fight which is 10 weeks after his last fight then I'm happy for him to step in against Casa. It does more good than bad as Casa could cause some serious issues. If guys are gonna have bull**** fights then I'd much prefer they be against opponents who are of this calibre.

Yeah i agree, problem here is time, (month of Ramadan Aug), Khan will only have 3 to 4 weeks to rest for this fight, train fly UK to LA - LA to UK jet lag.

Lamont Peterson, would be a better fight. Ortiz fought on the same night as Khan why can't they get him ?

Bull**** and I won't be watching unless its a stacked undercard

It's a bit surprising to me that the Brits seem to be judging this selection much more harshly than everybody else. Maybe you're all just underrating the old man. Or maybe I'm just too optimistic about Casamayor being able to hold his own and not get embarrassed (though I do think he'll most likely lose).

You won't be watching then

Unless they use Hatton, there aren't enough decent fighters available to make a good card.

Maybe If Owen Oyston wasnt too busy molesting young girls he could hire a chiropractor to fix Maidana's back, then we could see the fight in July. Stop Talking 'nonce' sense :D

not suprising at all. khan was one of the most heavily criticised active british boxers before he was even heard of in the states - some of the criticism deserved, some of it over-the-top.

casa is being lined up as a relatively safe but known opponent for a stay-busy before a proper challenge later in the year. i'm ok with this as long as his next opponent is a genuine dangerous lww whether it be his mandatory or one of the other titlists.

To be fair the excuses are starting to pile up with Khan:

    (1) Salita - Everyone knew how **** this guy was coming in, and any boxing fan worth his salt was aware that he didn't have a snowball's chance of winning. Excuse: "He deserves an easy first defence!"

    (2) Malignaggi - Can't punch for ****, and a made-2-order kind of opponent. Excuse: "He's a high-profile name in America for Khan's debut there."

    (3) Casamayor - Smaller, older fighter whose entering the very twilight of his career. Excuse: "Its just a filler fight because no one else is available."

These excuses may be spot-on, but it is frustrating for boxing fans to watch Khan take three fights in a row against opponents who are giving away so much physically and seem to have the perfect style for Khan to dominate over.

    Salita - No chance.

    Malignaggi - No chance.

    Casamayor - No chance.

Hopefully his fight after this will be a bit more revealing about how far he's come since the Prescott defeat. He certainly looks like he's improved (with the ring movement and everything), but get him in there with a natural LWW with a bit of a dig and we'll discover a lot more about what his future might hold.
