It's impossible to not love Bobby Chacom as a fighter. The guy was an absolute warrior but I like versatility and size of the Cuban in this one. Both fighters only lost to the best of the best. I like Joel by decision but wouldn't be shocked if Bobby found a way to win.
Great match-up. I've become a big Chacon fan over the years, despite him KO'ing one of my very favorite fighters (Little Red) and his career being marred by such tragedy. That said, if I'm using my head and not my heart I think Joel, who also really liked, would pull this one out ever so slightly. He was a really seamless operator unless you could crack that shell and disrupt his rhythm. I think Castillo was the first guy to really do that and Joel was already into his mid-30's. Not sure even Chacon could do that to a prime Casamayor.
Whether Casamayor chooses to box safely or decides to slug with Chacon I honestly can't see any other result other than a Casamayor win even if he gets into a fire fight. Too swift, tricky, and also tough. But it would be entertaining to watch.
Joel Casamayor too slick for Chacon,but as a man who would root on Bobby,I believe he could somewhat pressure Joel to death.
