Joel CASAMAYOR vs. Joan GUZMAN @ 140lbs on Marquez/Diaz undercard

I'd favor Casamayor slightly, on points.

Guzman is best off fighting at 140 and above, because he doesn't have the discipline, or he simply cannot make 135 anymore. The second Funeka fight, he weighed in at 144, 9 pounds overweight. It was disgraceful.

It actually wouldn't be a shock to me if Guzman doesn't even make 140.

PS..... I'd favor Casa as long as Guzman comes in at 140. In the first Funeka fight, he looked a bit weak down the stretch (could have been the broken nose), but if he doesn't have to worry about draining to make weight, he would probably be too strong and fast for Casa.

I don't like his chance here. Guzman maybe old too, and past his prime, but he will beat El Cepillo.

Really looking forward to these two legends finally hooking up. At this stage, i see no way Casamayor being able to stay competitive over 12 rounds. He may be able to hang in for 3 rounds or so. Guzman has retained above average head and foot movement, as well as handspeed and he will work Casa's body over early and often. I see Casa gassing out pretty early. Could very well end up in a KO for Guzy.

I hope they make this fight for around 142 as I am not sure Casa can make 140 today.

I used to like Guzman until he started coming in overweight and disrespecting his opponents. Always liked Casamayor, even though I was a bigger Corrales fan, Needless to say, I'll be pulling for Casamayor in this fight, even though I would make him an underdog. WAR Casita!
