According to a few sites, Casamayor has turned down the offer to fight Nate Campbell, but will instead fight Juan Manuel Marquez on Oct. 11.. I was kinda' looking towards a Casamayor/Campbell fight instead, but this will be a great fight too between two very smart boxers and great counter punches.. This will be a close fight in my eyes and will definitely go to a decision.. Don't know who my pick would be yet, but this opens a lot for the lightweight division? So is the Campbell/Guzman fight come off now? What does this leave for Pacquiao late this year except for a Hatton fight? What are ya'lls thoughts?

It all leads to that site.. They just have links leading to that article.. onepunch just posted a thread stating that the Campbell/Casa fight might just come off.. This whole thing is crazy.. Casa just needs to come out and say who he is gonna' fight.. I thought we was gonna' know today, but I guess it's gonna' be another 5 days to wait..

    ****ing AWESOME!!!

What a fantastic fight this would be. Marquez is going to tap that ass though...Casamayor is a bit too old now...Marquez is arguably the greatest Mexican of this generation, if you ask me...

Im cool with it this is a boxers dream match right here. Casamayor has slipped a bit but Marquez was fighting at 126 just a year and half ago now hes moved up to 135 off his 2nd Pacquiao war so hey hes no spring chicken himself. Neither guy has any excuses in my opinion. Who wins im not sure I just hope it doesnt end up a draw or bad decision both these guys have been robbed more times all your local Citgos combined.

This is a great fighting very intruiging and wow! this one is very interesting and will answer a lot of questions about both these guys. I like this one a hell of a lot more than Nate Campbell, I would rather see Nate against Hatton now that would be interesting.

A Nate Campbell fight for JMM imo would have been a more entertaining scrap.

Honestly I just dont see Casamayor competing with JMM.

Lets be honest, though Casamayor is still officially a title belt holder, he's looked like a shot fighter in his last couple of fights.
.....Casamayor was getting trounced by Katsidis, until he caught him with a lucky shot.

The way I'm seeing it, Casamayor will have no choice but to fight a survival fight, and because he's just may be shot to pieces, will likely get KTFO anyways.

The only intrigueing part in this fight may be to see to what lenghths Casamayor takes his elbows, headbutts and lowblows too, in order to just survive.

    JMM by midrounds domination tko!

I would have to agree with you divac. CAMPBELL vs JMM would have been more interesting..

who is the promoter of this fight anyway? It's unfair for JMM in this fight.
IF he wins there will be little credit for him simply because he (CASA) is already over the hill.. while a win by casa will be given credit in the sense that he won over the so called technically superior fighter. iF for some strange reason CASA wins convincingly. It will be called UPSET!

    IMO:
    JMM > CASA
    CAMPBELL > JMM
JUAN DIAZ VS JMM = VERY INTERESTING. 50/50 chance for both or maybe slight advantage to Juan coz he is much younger!

i would be surprised if casamayor wins this one. he was pretty awful in his last 2 performances while marquez has been great with his last two fights.

Campbell needs to show up at the post fight Press Conference if Joel wins, and shame his scaredy cat ass into a fight, in front of live cameras.

    I see Campbell eventually fight the winner of Diaz-Pac, ina dream scenario we can have;

Campbell Vs Pac for the alphabet titles and Casa Vs JMM for the linear, then God willing we can have winner vs winner for the undisputed lightweight title!

JMM vs Casa is close i see a SD on the horizon.
