I think Giardello was the better boxer and wins this on points in a close fight. Thoughts?

McCallum for me is one of the most underrated boxers of all time. He could box with the slickest master boxers and win or hold his own - see Toney, Kalambay, Graham and Curry who he stopped. He dominated every minute against a very good technical boxer in Michael Watson, who deserved the decision against Eubank and knocked out Nigel Benn.

You could argue McCallum only had 1 defeat up until the age of 39 while taking on all comers.

I have no doubt McCallum wins, technically better, more intelligent, stronger and would take Giardello's body away. Possibly a late stoppage

Joey on points in a close technical affair. I think his speed of both foot and hand would be the difference.

Yes...I agree completely. McCallum is an excellent, smart, technical fighter, but at his best...Giardello is just too damned smart for him...if Kalambay was able to bamboozle and outbox Mike, one of boxing's renown old wizards could do it too.

I am calling it a draw. Mc Callum is the better fighter but styles make fights
