I would have to say Monzon, overall Monzon will have the space to attempt to control the pace with his jab and if he gets any joy there he drops things in behind it. Its not going to be all easy ging though, as exvhanges in jabs means Joey gets some of his own top level work done and at distance he uses his angles and jab to perfection, any lapses by Monzon mean he could pay, but i think Monzon's consistent style wins it for him.

monzon i think would KO him late after breaking him down slowly until he had nothing left although he might take the first few rounds

I dont see Monzon stopping Joey Giardello. Only way might be on cuts and Joey was only stopped once on cuts in the Spider Webb fight. The very durable and crafty Giardello (on a given night), had the ability to give anybody a tough fight. If they fought four times, Joey would win two of them.

Dick Tiger couldn't stop Joey ,Monzon isnt doing it. A well conditioned Giardello ,[not a given], would give Monzon the fight of his life ,and could win one of a three bout series. If Monzon came in unfocused,[unlikely] , he loses.

Agreed. Giardello is of course going to be underrated considering who his opponent is, but he'd fare well with pretty much any MW in history at his best.

No disgrace in Joey losing a decision to the greatest middleweight champion of all in Monzon.
