Two favorite, great middleweight champs of mine...and a match up that, amazingly enough, I've never considered before. Who would win...the Giardello of December of 1963 vs the Emile Griffith of April of 1966....incidently, both dates recorded their individual triumphs over the same man...middleweight champ **** Tiger....another favorite of mine too coincidently...so...what's your call? This would be a 15 rounder, of course.
I'm ashamed to say I've never watched many Emile Griffith's fights even though he was a 3 weight champ and bested **** Tiger twice.
Giardello did best vs the come forward types, I think Griffiths got the style advantage in this one and would be fighting a game plan that favors him more than Giardello and grab the W
Emile in a close decision bout. Could definitely see a peak Joey winning once in a trilogy, or even winning the series.
