I'm not really seeing a case for Carter other than sheer aggression. It was a clear win for Giardello in my opinion.
I haven't seen the Giardello/Carter fight for years, but my recollection is that it was a clear win for Joey ,and this is reflected in the unanimous decision,and the scorecards 72-66,71-66,70-67.
Lest we forget Joey Giardello was THIRTY FOUR years old when he won a decisioin from Reuben Carter in 1964. A hell of an accomplishment...Joey had just 6 more fights and then retired...A wily ole cuss...
