March 5, 1979 Houston, Texas "Little Joey Makes It '21' Straight" 21 year-old Joey Olivo won his '21st' straight bout, by scoring a 12-Round Decision over 'tough' Mexican - Lupe Madera 23-8-0 (15 KO's) to win the NABF Light-Flyweight Championship. Joey with a 5' 9" 'stick-figure frame' and long left hand, annoyed the bejabbers out of 5' 0" Lupe Madera, to win a Unanimous 12-Round Decision. Joey, with a 9" height advantage, towered over the muscular-built Lupe.
