    Joey Olivo,

    The Los Angeles, California 'Light-Flyweight'.

Joey resembled a 'stick figure', so skinny, that when he stood in
the sun, his body would not 'cast' a shadow.

I love my friend Joey Olivo. But he couldn't sellout a phone booth!

    The 'stick-figure'

    Turned professional in July 1976. The 18 year-old 5' 9" 106 lb. Light-Flyweight
made a 'skinny name' for himself by winning '16-straight'.

    On September 12, 1978 - Joey Olivo 18-0-0 (3 KO's) took on 'Baja Champion'
Rafael Rubio 16-5-2 (2 KO's) in a battle of 'young' Flyweight prospects.

The 'skinny' - both fighters couldn't hit harder than a 'flea'.

Joey won, by a TKO 10.

"Little Joey Makes It '21' Straight"

21 year-old Joey Olivo won his '21st' straight bout, by scoring a 12-Round
Decision over 'tough' Mexican - Lupe Madera 23-8-0 (15 KO's) to win the
    NABF Light-Flyweight Championship.

Joey with a 5' 9" 'stick-figure frame' and long left hand, annoyed the bejabbers
out of 5' 0" Lupe Madera, to win a Unanimous 12-Round Decision.

Joey, with a 9" height advantage, towered over the muscular-built Lupe. Olivo
utilized his 8" reach advantage to keep his left hand in the face of the Mexican,
while avoiding Lupe's powerful right hands and left hooks.

Joey is now ranked in the Top 10, and holds a 21-0-0 (5 KO's) record.
