You're comparing Nonito to the greatest Bantamweight of all time, and it's a great compliment to him to even mention him in the same breath as Jofre. Wins over Darchinyan, Montiel, Nishioka, Narvaez, Sidorenko, Mathebula, Vasquez, Martinez, Maldonado etc are very impressive. He completely sparked two P4P top 10 guys and reduced insanely long-reigning world champions like Narvaez and Nishioka to going into survival mode from the opening bell. He's already a HOFer after 30 fights and wins over Mares and Rigondeux would ensure he's a ATG.
What fights would you recomend to watch? His last fight was 18 years before I was born. So haven't seen any of his fights.
Unfortunately, i would tell you to go to a website, which i won't mention here, but people here should know about it. You can then delve into history on there. Check out the two fights he had with Fighting Harada. Youtube is very limited imo for boxing footage. Unfortunately, you won't find much on youtube. I have a lot of his recorded fights, i will upload them if you want. If you are on __.
I think I know what site you are talking about as there is quite a few of his fights on it. Will have a look later.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSvg2y-Qhh0[/ame] Legra was pretty much done here. Still a good win imo. Legra was a beast.
too bad jofre is retired. you must really hate donaire to have to pull a guy out of the hall of fame to downplay him
Contemporary boxers have no chance of beating boxers of yesteryears. This seems to be the conclusion of know-it-all ESBers who deeply hate the champion boxers of today.
Making a fantasy thread that involves a Hall of Famer/ATG and a current fighter is a sign of trying to make yourself feel better because that current fighter had just dominated his last fight and you didn't like that result.
