I misread the OP. That's only if you're trying to lose weight/fat.

So your muscles don't go into a catabolic state?

Rite, i'm gunnu try waking up at 7a.m, havin a smallish breakfast, and running for half an hour to start. The only reason i thought waking up really early was good was because most pro boxers seem to do it, Tyson would wake up at 2a.m!

I'm sounding like a broken record here I'm sure, but unless you are running to cut weight, and like a lot of us doing it for cardio, why jog?

Proper sprints are the way to go. They will increase your cardio like no other thing. They take a lot less time. You are less likely to develop knee joint and ligament damage. It will increase your explosiveness. It will help strengthen your legs thus increasing your punching power. And the list goes on...

Jogging has some benefits, sure. But it totally pales in comparison to what tabatas will do for you, as an athelete and boxer.

    A few facts:

I do HIIT training 3 times a week and try for some LSD running on Sundays. Or biking or swimming.

5 grams isn't going to save you, bro, you would need at least 20 and 20 of carbs if you actually want to do something.
And even then that's a pitifully small amount, depends on bodyweight however.

How will not eating after 6-7pm help lose fat? Makes no sense at all.

The amount of times I've argued this is ridiculous. The thinking around here is if all past boxers ran over distance everyone here must do it to, no matter the benefits of sprints.

Nope. It is very specific. 20 second all out sprint. Rest exactly 10 seconds. 20 second all out sprint. 10 sec. rest. Do it 8 in all times. Will take you less then 5 minutes. Make sure to have a proper stretch and warm up. A round or two of skipping serves as a good warm up, plus a warm down, same thing.

It's intense, but the results are unparalleled.

If you are just starting, it might not be the best option if you have zero cardio to start. Soon as you got some wind tho, it is the way to go. No shame in doing it and finding you can't go all out either. It'll quickly come.

I think jogging in the morning is ok for some but it's very difficult to teach yourself to do it if it doesn't come naturally.

The times I've done it (I'd love it if I could, as it fits in better with my day and if I know I have to, I can just get on with it), I've just felt awful all day - like really really drained. That's even with a light snack and loads of water before it too.

"No one wants to get up at 4 and run when it's pitch-dark, but it has to be done. The only reason i do it so early is because i believe the other guy isn't doing it and that gives me a little edge" - Tyson
