I think this is a genuine 50-50 fight.

If Carl Johanneson turns up with his head screwed on and in good shape, I think he will take Mitchell to be honest.

Mitchell hasn't beaten anyone of any note whatsoever (not his fault BTW - Mr Warren of course) and this is a big step up in class for Kevin. I don't think he has been given the right progression - there is a difference between beating genuine bums and stepping up to British title level.

Having had 25 fights, he should have been there by now, why has this not been the case?

Kevin is probably more talented naturally, but Carl is battle hardened, and will prevail.

    Go the Yorkshireman!

Any reason why Mitchell is 3/1 at vBookie?

Have I missed something in the preperations? :?

Like you said, it could go either way, but I fancy Mitchell big

3/1 **** gonna have a bet on that. I am going to go with Mitchell think he will step up fine. Some perform better when they face better oposition, Mitchell i think will be one of those.

    Mitchell is a rightful favourite.

I expect a fantastic performance from him, before stopping johansen late.

Maybe Mitchells first step up, but he hasnt put a foot wrong so far and CJ is there for the taking.

    Kevin Mitchell TKO 7

The fight will be the first time Mitchell has faced a live opponent. For someone so talented his progression has been awful.

For me the fight depends on which Johanesson turns up. The one I went to see lose in his Euro belt tilt will lose bad, maybe early but definetly at some point he will get koed.

If the Johanesson turns up that did so well against Burns, Femi and recently against Gomez then we could see a totally different fight. Carl is all round good at this level and could be in line for a serious upset. Who knows what Mitchell is going to be like when a fighter actually punches back.

I have got to go with the favorite Mitchell but Carl has every chance of doing well. It is his last chance at making a name for himself so a KO either way would be most likely.

    Mitchell KO round 8.

i think this is the johanneson which will turn up!

he clearly has a major mental thing going on when he faced that kirakosyan fella. must have been remembering the last time he got ktfo by him.
but in his very next fight he did very well against an aggressive (if shot) gomez, taking uppercuts and bodyshots without getting fazed.

I was ringside for both those fights and I could not believe it was the same fighter. I think he has got his head together for this fight so it could be very interesting. Maybe Mitchell has picked the wrong fighter to step up against.

I will say this however and ythat is if Mitchell does do a number on a Johanesson that looks good then Mitchell is the real deal. I just hope his career does not stall for too much longer.

I would be surprised if CJ is up for it.

Mitchell win, but still hard fought.

Why would Carl not be up for it?

Mitchell is hardley a scarey opponent, he is good but can you name an opponent that is anywhere near Johanessons standard while Carl has had good opponent after good opponent recently.

I had heard that CJ was coming through a possible career ending injury, and I've heard other worrying rumours as well. That's all I'm referring to.

I didn't mean that CJ was scared of facing Mitchell.

Carl has bad luck with rumours because they are useually true. I have heard a few but he still seems intent on giving it a go.
