Take the Conteh who beat Jorge Ahumada and pit him against the Hearns who knocked out Denis Andries in their lt.heavy title fight. This would have been very entertaining. Hearns would have hurt John a few times early on with those big right hands, but the Brit would have forced his way more and more into the fight by the halfway mark, rocking Hearns with his own right hand punches and rapid jab. Conteh, being the fresher of the two at this respective point in their careers, would emerge victorious, either by late tko or unanimous decision. ??

Conteh by stoppage. No doubt in my mind whatsoever.

Conteh by stoppage. Would've been interesting to see whose jab would be more effective.

I think Hearns could give him problems early, and htat right hand is still a huge danger for a lot of light heavies.Bennett had succes on the outside against a patient conteh, with his superior height and reach, excellent jab and the threat of his huge power, but he was more of a glass jawed bob foster clone than a Hearns facsimile and much more physically imposing.

Once Conteh starts slipping the jab and finds the range with the hooks and right hands, Hearns probably won't be around much longer, but until then it could be quite interesting.

As an aside, i don't think i've ever seen a light heavy drop away as quickly as Bennett did. He's a guy who would have benefited greatly from a cruiserweight division being around at the time.

I think we're all in enough agreement that I don't need to waste my words.

    I think it's pretty much a no-contest.

Conteh, by possibly late round stoppage.
