Conteh, and easily. Not a huge size difference but it's enough - not to mention the massive talent difference. Conteh by mid rounds TKO. Kessler stinks.
i've seen almost no conteh, barring saad muhammad, but a panel a few years back of boxing experts had him ranked as one of the most talented british fighters of all time. in fact, based on skills they had him on top i believe but his record kept him down on the all time ranking high praise and I'd have to favour conteh on everything i've read
He's more than worth the watch. You won't be dissapointed. Hell, even the Saad Muhammad bout showcased his beautiful skills prior to the later rounds when he started to fade.
Fair bit on youtube Jorodz. Check out his fight with Finnegan and Bogs..dominated the bejesus out of both of them.
This one is so easy to call...and there's no disrespect intended for Kessler, but Conteh would have outclassed him...winning a lopsided 15 round decision..he could have done it with his left alone.
In other words, the old FW "bah-humbug" for right or wrong. MK's a good fighter, but yeah, the general sentiment on the thread seems fair for this match-up.
I like and respect Kessler. He's a tough guy and a class act.But he'd be easily decisioned by a guy like Conteh, who not only had excellent skills, but was a very good puncher, too. He had a wee bit too much of everything for Mikkel and you can't discount the 7 pound weight difference.Plus,Conteh's experience against some brilliant lightheavyweight competition was greater than Mikkel's,who really only had experience against a handful of world class supermiddleweights.
Thats a silly and disrespectful thing to say. Worthy of the General Forum. However Conteh is superior in every aspect to Kessler and would stop him late. Beautiful boxer.
:goodI happen to agree with this as the more I think of it,the more I think John would have stopped Mikkel late. But that doesn't diminish Mikkel's class or toughness.Well said,Chris:good
