A post of mine from the 11th of July 2016. This is something I've touched on before then too. I based it off my observations watching Kovalev in action and also watching numerous interviews with his S&C coach.

Be quiet! What you did a couple times in boot camp has no bearing on the limits of physical exertion a Russian boxer can sustain during preparation for a fight.

You are saying the short training interval was too intensive and should have been spread out over a longer, more traditional time period?

depends on the intensity of the training. did kovalev train like it was the first 4 weeks of camp, or the last. building strength and endurance is a process of tearing and healing of the muscles. if you dont allow enough time for the last tears to heal, your performance suffers.
what you are shooting for is the ability to get to a condition where he can physically withstand the stress of a 12rd fight without too much loss in performance from the 1st round to the last. if its a 2 month camp, the trainer needs to decide the rate at which he will be increasing the stress, while allowing enough time for the muscles to heal and become stronger. too much stress too early or too late will result in too much tearing and not enough rebuilding of the body.

Fluffy cannot FIGHT !! He relies on hometown refs like Cortez & Bayless to protect him

Look, a like booster and his dog are back. I run 10-15 miles a week right now. Boot camp, I lost around 40 pounds. If Kov was running 14 miles in one day, and did this multiple times throughout training camp, there's no way his body would sustain it without his health being in serious trouble. You and your little dog will be banned again soon enough. Still trying to make this place like the lounge I see.

I'm not a fan of Floyd but he was the best I've seen since a prime Chavez Sr and could fight when he had too.

Hey we agree on something :)...I had him winning the first fight against Castillo too! Other part - depends on your definition of a fighter - we have different definitions
