Nice to see others have an understanding of physical preparation. It seems like fighters still use linear progression over extended time periods where strength athletes have transitioned more toward micro cycles. Doing anything for more than three weeks causes an adaptive stimulus to occur that halts progress and leads to an over trained state much quicker.

Altering time under tension, load capacity and intensities is tricky enough with strength athletes but an entirely new dimension is at play with fighters who typically rely on different metabolic pathways along with training strategies to address this.

Specious hysterics as usual from you, I see. So in short: Because your body breaks down over a certain training stimulus then that must mean Kovalev's will do the same?

    LOL

    Damn you are clueless.

So it works like this right? If Theydontboxnomore7 can back squat 100 kg and that makes him sore and unable to train for a week then there is no way elite Olympic weightlifters could possibly squat anymore with greater frequency, RIGHT?

You are hilarious, literally the gift that keeps on giving.

As I've said in the lounge. All you do is talk crap to posters, boost your dogs likes and only when you do actually talk boxing, it's a paranoid conspiracy rant. This isn't the first time Kovalev has used the overtrain excuse. FYI. They're exaggerating. Just the bottom line.

If he cannot do something without braking down then how could an elite professional fighter who has been training since he was ten like Kovalev? LOL

Theydontblablabla is such a pretentious ass.

People try and talk boxing with you but your inner parrot comes out and you start squaking about the lounge, likes and a bunch of other crap that hardly anyone knows what are referring to. Start practicing what you preach for once.

Majority of my posts here in the main are boxing related unless I converse with you and your band of misfit cronies and my likes are legit. They're not boosted pal. I know that's infathomable for you to understand but yeah.

Your little games won't work troll. Go boost more likes unless you have something of substance to say.

Exactly. The idiot STILL thinks people buy into his keyboard badass BS. I could bump about 50 of the GOW geeks posts that expose him even more. But it's not even worth it. At least not here in the main anyway. ;)

But back to the thread topic... Jackson always seemed like a strange character with a sleazy side. I'm glad Sergey at least brought his Russian coach in for this one. I still think he's going to hurt Ward on the 17th :D Can't wait

Why would Jackson go with SOB? Jackson would lose money and SOB would not pay him what he pays Hunter, I expect SOB to retire after the fight anyway...................SOB does not want to fight, he wants to cheat, he probably put out this propaganda to cause trouble, if Kovalev did not like Jackson, he would have fired him after the first robbery. Did Jackson put drugs in Kovalev's water bottle? Doubt it, they have been successful together for a long time now and Kovalev did win the first fight, it was the damned criminal biased judges who caused the problem, not Jackson.....................SOB is a very dirty boxer, he cheats, his best punch is his headbutt, he knows how to hold, run, punch to the testicles, grab Kovalev's leg, elbow. SOB owns the judges, referee, boxing commission, etc., SOB said that neutral judges were unfair.................SOB knows that all he has to do is play defense, he does not have to punch, he does not have to fight at all. He knows the cards have already been filled out, I said this before the first fight...................SOB is claiming that Kovalev hates Americans, only wants Russians around him, but that is not true. SOB is a liar and a cheat, the booing at the criminal decision proves this, almost everyone had Kovalev winning the fight except a few SOB fans, most of SOB's fans were booing..........Harold Lederman had the fight 116 -111 Kovalev and he does not like European fighters..........

exactly. different muscles are used differently in different sports, so the preparation has to take into account which muscles require the most oxygen, and train them accordingly. thats why nfl players look tired in the 4th quarter, even though they get long breaks in between 10 seconds of action, they train for explosiveness and short bursts of speed. you could be in navy seal shape and if youve never boxed, 3 rds will have youre arms screaming for rest.

Jackson said in an interview that he is a manic depressive and in recovery for abusing alcohol. He actually said that when first working with Kovalev he told him all of this and said there would be times when Kovalev should not try and speak with him due to his depression but he should try later because he might be ready to communicate then due to his mood swings.

Jackson actually said all of this in an interview.

Good Lord what kind of trainer says to his client do not try and speak with me because I have mood swings? No wonder Kovalev thinks Muricans are all nuts and is taking his family back to Russia after his boxing career.
