Oh bull****... I NEVER saw any sane person claiming world class skills on Duddy, Irish black or Chinese. The most anyone was hoping for was a Gatti type fighter who could take a beating and give one out in return. He was never going to beat an A lister and that was pretty obvious right from the beginning.
What the **** did I just say? the only people who hyed him were americans,I said the guy would never make it anywhere since day one...and the ****ing did hype him big time, not all of them, but the ones who did were mostly american.
and I'm saying Irish Americans were well aware of his limitations from day one, and you're pulling this **** out of your ass. He was well liked, but he wasn't hyped. Nobody thought he was a world beater. EVER.
i called this last night on hermits thread the bad part of all this is kelly just lost a real easy pay day
He was never over-hyped!! He was just a very popular boxer for many different reason. There is a difference here.. Most of his fans knew his limitations and would of been more hopeful rather than expectant if he had faced a Pavlik or an Abraham. So get off the guys ****ing back, I constantly see this **** on this post from 'boxing fans' after a guy has lost his 0. Your like a pack of ****in dogs, the guy is still only 29 and has 1 loss on his record. He's got lots of options still available. Some of you guys here haven't really got a clue what your talking about and probably never even stepped into a ring, ****ing armchair fans!!
If there were any "real opponents" available, he might. The only decent MWs are Pavlik, Abraham, Sturm, Winky and Williams. Abraham's tied up, Sturm never fights anyone who isn't trash or a mandatory, Arum refuses to deal with Williams, and Winky's coming off a loss. Can't say a Duddy loss probably helps the situation at all.
Generally speaking, most of the hypers wandered off after the Eastman and Smichet performances. There was a feeling that Duddy was being pushed too fast, beyond his current capability, and so here we are. Good thing for him is time is on his side, and he has a marketable image.
I can't remember who and on what thread . . . but I remember the guy asking why will Pavlik fight Abraham or Sturm without fighting Duddy.
It's not just a matter of losing one fight . . . this guy was suppose to beat Pavlik accoring to the hypers. If he could lose to a 19 -7 guy . . . how could he beat a 53(31 KO) - 1 fighter like Pavlik. I'll be watching live fights today . . . but if I have time I'll search the old threads and find those posts. :good
