Duddy was reeling against a past-his-prime Campas.

Vargas 10th or 11th round TKO.

Still, Campas was never great to begin with, and Duddy was having big trouble with him when past his best.

Like most people I am uncertain of Vargas' current abilities - Still I would believe it would take more than John Duddy to test them.

Vargas by KO. The power is probably still there.

not at 160. I think Duddy by decision...would be a good fight.

How you figure that? Vargas came from 154, I can't see how his power would be affected moving up just one class.

simple, vargas power has been against people fighting at 154, Duddy has been fighting guys who walk around at 170 or more and cut weight to make 160. He's used to taking punches by bigger stronger guys than Vargas.

Dont think that 6 pounds would diminish his power so vastly, nor the punch resistance of the fighters at 160.

Campas came from 147 (?) and was knocking Duddy all over the ring.

campas was not coming up from 147! He had already fought two fights at 160 and had won both by tko.
by the way is this a good time to talk about how overrated Duddy is?

I know, my point is if Campas, being someone who started his career as a welterweight can hurt Duddy, then Vargas ( who would be more than capable of making 160 easily ) can definitely hurt him, even the Vargas who fought Mosley could hurt Duddy.

well, i just checked and campas has fought at 160 or more at least 7 times. He'll take one fight at 160 then fight one at 154 and then fight two at 160 so he is not the usual case.

but....i have to admit that Vargas probably could hurt Duddy. so i guess you kind of win that one.

Duddy's not ready, maybe in a year or so, but right now i think Vargas would KO' him...
