You guys must have forgotten his brutal beating at the hands of Yuri Tsarenko and his spurious win over journeyman Michael Monaghan. Even poor Gary was disgusted with himself after that performance. Gary has a sound chin a very good punch in either hand. But Duddys win aside on the weekend lets not be unrealistic. Gary looked great up until he came unstuck against Yuri.He was KO`ing journeymen like Nembhard and Kevin Kelly. But the reality is Garys just a good domestic pro on a EBU level and nothing more. When he makes that break into world class he will get hammered. As much as Duddy is limited Gary is quite slow does nothing special and merely plods forward looking to land the big punch. He doesnt really use educated pressure and if the KO doesnt come early he runs out of ideas and struggles when on the back foot. Duddy could cruise to an easy decision if he boxes clever behind the jab and keeps Gary honest with the right hand.
It would be very close and prob really good to watch. If the fight is in Ireland then Duddy every time but any where else then Locket has a serious chance.
Lockett can cause Duddy lots of problems but my main gripe is that he isn't busy enough. As scurla says, you imagine Lockett plodding a bit through fights and sound as he can be, he lacks that ability to unlock good opponents. Has good power for this division and hopefully Enzo Calzaghe can get him working on speed. Lockett once said that "sparring with Calzaghe was like sparring with a Welterweight". Now Joe is quick for his weight but it tells you everything you need to know about Lockett's ability to move.
