There have been talks about Duddy possibly moving down in weight. Who would win this potential bloodbath?
Why though? Did you even see Duddy's last fight? Whilst not the greatest technician, he would be stronger, more experienced than Kirkland. Even though I don't fancy John Duddy's chances of becoming a true champion, he is capable of knocking out a very green, flawed James Kirkland.
Honestly, I think Duddy takes this one. Kirkland has been put down before by lesser punchers than Duddy and Duddy has a good chin. Kirkland was almost out in the Conyers fight. This would be an excellent main event for B.A.D.
He started at 140, and Duddy is quite a big 160lbs'ers.. let a lone 154. I don't think he can rush Duddy, Duddy weathers his early shots and will have him on his backfoot by the third round, from there on.. Kirklands lack of experience will show and he will be kayoed. Ofcourse, it's very early in Kirklands career and I can be badly mistaken, I doubt it though.
Kirkland, probably by stoppage. The shots from guys like Campas that bloodied Duddy would be more more damaging coming from Kirkland, in my opinion.
