John Duddy vs Verno Phillips who wins?

seriously if this fight happens duddy punishes phillips for a lot of rounds and wins a comfortable UD or a late stoppage,i just can't see phillips winning this,duddy is simply to strong and has to good of a jab!

could be a good plan though but has nowhere near the appeal of a pavlik fight.

 

phillips is a class above, would but up duddys face and win on points

This would be a smart move by Duddy; though, after he wins the title, he may have to fight Spinks. That would be ugly.

 

Phillips needs to give Spinks a rematch.

 

Spinks vs. Phillips was actually a pretty good fight. Spinks was trading with Phillips and getting hit regularly in the later rounds.

 

It's less glamorous, but John's pretty much been fighting as JMW. He's shown he can take hits from MWs, perhaps he'll have more effective power at JMW?

Doesn't matter how exciting you think Duddy is or Spinks isn't. Fair is fair. Spinks needs a rematch. **** your personal opinion of his style (or that of Duddy, who hasn't earned dick).

And yeah, Duddy would beat the much smaller Phillips...and deserve (and get) no credit for it whatsoever. Pointless fight. If JD wants respect he should tackle a good, true, young middleweight.

 

Phillips is a better fighter than Duddy but he's getting old now.

Duddy will be a big jr middleweight and I think he'd beat Phillips if they do fight.

If he can't get a fight w/ Pavlik than I say Duddy should make this one if he can.

 

Why hasn't Duddy dropped weight already?
