From what i have read,he got his ass handed to him good n proper.

 

i switched off at the end of round 12..thought Chavez did enough to win!

 

120-108 was too wide. 116-112 or 117-111 was fair enough imo

 

Yeah. I had it 119-110 to Chavez Jr. On hindsight I think my card is too wide, but I gave Chavez Jr the majority of the close early rounds. Duddy won no more than 4 rounds in the fight though.

 

chavez is good, he's won a couple of dull spectacals but when he's seriouse about his job, hes no walk in the park.

 

You could give Duddy anywhere between 1 and 3 rounds. Most were very clear Chavez rounds, and a couple could have even been fair at 10-8 (even though John never went down).

Brave performance from the Derry Destroyer but he took a beating.

 

I don't think Duddy would want to go down the British and Commonwealth route, maybe he should have a few fights in Ireland on Peters cards to get himself ranked with the EBU and go for that title. I gave him 3 rounds against Chavez jr btw.

 

There's no need to write him off the world scene altogether. He'll never be unified champ at 160 or anything, but he can stay competitive (although with his style, it oughtn't be a long career).

I've always wondered if John can't simply boil down to 154 without too much ill effect. He looked the smaller man - not just shorter, but smaller - with Chavez (who's spend most of his career LMW) and he's never been a very big middleweight.

If he can make it comfortably he could give people like Cintron, Margarito, and Angulo (guys who are used to being the forward-motion unstoppable force themselves) absolute fits, maybe stop them late.

 

yeah he clearly lost, thought he was gonna get KO'd a couple of times.

I had him winning 3 and sharing 1 round, rest were Jr's. 1 round was nearly a 10-8 round too...

 

i wonder where he goes from here.from what ive heard,he even struggles to make 160 these days.whether its lack of motivation or bad diet,he was struggling to make weight for chavez and was worried about not making it.doubt it contributed to his loss,if he chooses to block every punch with his face its up to him.he has gone backwards with harry keitt.at least pat burns was teaching him the basics of defence,he's such a sucker for that right hand

 

A showdown with Lee is all thats left after this showing.In Ireland,not the US.

 

He kept it interesting, but he was outgunned and outclassed for most rounds. It was a bad loss.
