Unless he intends on fighting him immenently then he can only improve alongside BJ.

The AKA lot dont want to fight each other though do they.

I agree unless they are planning on fighting very soon which I doubt will happen or there is some serious rift between the 2 which I also doubt then whats the problem ? Iron sharpens iron this would be benefical to both men.

It seems like ages ago that BJ Penn (Pictured) and Jon Fitch battled to a highly controversial draw at UFC 127. After watching their rematch at UFC 132 fall through due to injuries to both welterweights, a sequel may now never come to fruition.

Regardless, Fitch appears unwilling to put their rivalry to bed as he’s attempting to block the Hawaiian from invading his turf.

Penn is currently working his way back to action in his homeland of Hawaii, but as game time steadily approaches on his showdown with Rory MacDonald, he intends to take his talents to American Kickboxing Academy to prepare for the up-and-comer – assuming Fitch doesn’t get his way, of course.

“We’re over here in Honolulu right now training,” Penn revealed in his UFC 152 video blog. “We’re gonna be here for a month, and then we’re gonna see where we’re gonna train next month. We’re trying to get up to AKA, but Fitch is trying to give me some problems about that.

“And all Jon Fitch has to do is look on the wall [at AKA]. Whose picture is on the wall holding the belt? That’s all Jon Fitch has to know.”

Fitch is presently rehabbing the surgically repaired knee that forced him out of this month’s scrap against Aaron Simpson, so he’s still not back to training at full capacity. Nonetheless, he doesn’t want Penn practicing on the same mats that he does.

“The Prodigy” ends his brief retirement to face MacDonald on September 22nd.

Id hazard a guess at this being the underlying problem Fitch has with BJ

They should tell Fitch to STFU, and work BJ in around when Fitch is there.

The problem with training with the Diaz bros is that BJ feels disrespected by them. Also, he needs to train with good wreslters.

John Fitch should not have a say on anything let alone regarding the GOAT.

...who he has strong memories of pounding the crap out of for five straight minutes last time they were in the same cage.

Anyway, it could just be that Fitch is worried that Penn will drag too much of the coaches' attention away from him and other fighters. Either way, that's not up to him and if the coaches want the money they should tell him to suck it up or move on.

It's funny, I don't consider myself a fan of the guy and I don't ever look forward to seeing him fight, but I like that he wins because a lot of the people he pisses off the most are people who should **** off to toughman contests and so that makes me happy. Also, I like that he's the anti-Penn in that he's not very little talent but gets buy on being tough and being in great shape and grinding out wins.
